    Right, here goes. Mine had exactly the same problem and was initially sorted by accident when the Satnav stuck to the lid.Wriggling it from side-to-side got it open. I then (without Satnav) shook lid from side to side and it now works every time. Pity it took me two years to find it especially when the spare keys were in there!
