  1. Hey Guys, So I recently brought an is250 after much pondering and advice from the guys on the forum. Anyway here's my story. 1. Brought car, drove approx 100 miles everything running fine. 2. Took car to be serviced independently, 5 miles down the round the 3 dreaded lights come on 3. Check forum, reset ecu (by disconnecting battery) and drive approx 50 miles before all lights re-appear 4. Take car to lexus who charge £99 for a diagnostic, car is fully checked over, advised there are no fault codes in the ECU, reset and sent on my way. 5. Lights re-appear again after approx 50miles. 6. Car taken back to lexus who again run diagnostic, no fault, advised if it comes on again I will need to leave the car with them for a full day, lights cleared and sent on my way. 7. Approx 50 miles Lights re-appear. 8. Didnt drive car the whole day and lights come off on its own. 9. Lights reappear after approx 20miles. I see a friend of a friend outside my dads house, he plugs in diagnostic tool and it shows fault c1201. The reason I took it to lexus was for piece of mind and its a 9 year old car. To be honest I dont feel as though I can trust lexus by taking my car to them again if Joe bloggs came and found the fault. Has anybody got any advice/similar issues?
  2. Im back again LOL. Can anyone recommend somewhere near in/near birmingham to get a full service done? My car has 90k on the clock but hasnt had a lexus service since 50k (indy at 60/74/82. Should I take it to lexus for piece of mind of shall I just find a good indy who can give her the once over and tell me if anything needs changing. The guy i brought it off was into DIY and changed the oil/oil filter/plugs/air filter/pollen filter at 87k. As you can proberrbly tell im far from a diy/mechanic man. Any help wpuld be much appreciated.
  3. Hi ALL, Thanks very much for all your advice. I finally got my hands on a is250 SE-L auto with MM and all the trimmings. It will be on the road in a few weeks once I get it serviced and cleaned up.
  4. thanks for all your help guys. Other than the cost of tax is there any other reason why I shouldnt go for the 250 manual? (Looking at budget here as the manuals are coming in a bit cheaper.
  5. Thanks very much for all of your insight it is much appreciated. To be honest there seems to be only one winnner, 250 se-L auto!!!!! Is there anything else that I should look out for when buying? Thanks again
  6. Hi All, 1st post so please dont hammer me. I've been looking for a lexus now for a bout 2 months. I was all for an is220d until I came across this forum and now it looks like the is250 auto is the best choice. I know its been said here previusly but what should I go for? is250 automatic or the is220d. Whichever model I get im getting one with all the trimmings ie, heated seats, leather or suede, rev camera, sat nav unit etc etc. Driving wise I have a 24 mile round trip daily that consists of about 25 miles on the motorway. In 20 months ive done 23 thousand miles. When answering could you give me a couple of reasons why if poss. Thanks very much in advance -A soon to be lexus owner-
