  1. I do a lot of driving on the outskirts of central London and some motorway driving and average about 20. Most I've seen cruising at motorway speeds was 34! My wife did get it down to 15mpg after she drove it for an hr or so - she thinks manual+sport mode is how it should be driven and I kinda agree! It's my daily drive so I can't hoon around daily!

  2. Hi Peter,

I'm up for it on the above dates or in November if there's a sudden spike in interest from the other guys. Let me me know. My mate in his e46 M3 is also interested to know how much hp he's lost! November will be trickier though as various pre-xmas weekend family gatherings pick up momentum.

  3. Re RC-F's stock, I asked two dealers and they both gave a different story so all sounds like sales c-rap re stock. one said no limits on availability - the public can order at anytime and get it within weeks (up to 3 months) and the other said one to three RC-F's per dealer for display/sale and stock is replenished after each sale.

I drove the RC(4 wheel drive version) in the US last year and the chassis gave lot's of confidence and was quick off the line - not as fast as the IS-F though! :) I think it would be easier to live with as a daily drive than the IS-F or RC-F for that matter, in my opinion.

  4. Here goes: (all 4/5 door except CLK)

    Suzuki Vitara 1.6

    Suzuki Grand vitara V6

    Merc C320 cdi sport

    BMW 320i sport

BMW 318i (company car - was ok on tax but I could run faster! also not great on reliability)

Lexus RX400h (still have this - best all round car and most reliable car I've ever owned - has 165k miles on the clock (regular drives to Devon) and still drives as new!)

Golf mk4 1.4L (London run around) - very reliable and chip to service (did most myself)! I regret selling it!

Merc CLk320 CDi sport - best looking car I've owned (sorry IS-F)

    Lexus IS-F

  5. Hey guys...a quick update on this just in case anyone is considering a service plan when the major 60k service is due....Lexus initially quoted me £930 to cover a 3yr service plan, however this excluded the major 60k service which covers changing spark plugs etc for which they wanted me to pay an extra £875...to which I politely declined and refrained from swearing! :)

Anyways, after a few minutes of further deliberations, I was quoted £1418 for a 3-yr service plan which included the two major services (60k & 80k) and a standard 70k service which takes me to 2018 ( I suspect that I'll change her before 2017 as I've got my eyes on the Mustang 5.0 GT within 2yrs)....anyways, I'm going to see them later this evening and wondered what you guys think about this offer? thanks fellas! appreciate your feedback!

  6. Thanks guys! My wife has a plan on her Lexus RX400H and the service is great and the predictable cost gives peace of mind. Seeing that the 60k major service will be due on my F at some point next year then I'll go for it. She gets a Lexus courtesy car for a tenner a day and that also may come in handy for me as work can be unpredictable. You never know they may give me an RCF for a day when it goes in for its next service...lol!!!

I can’t help but think of this Alan Partridge clip now that we have 2x Lexus at my home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YllyBr_4Kxk

P.S I may pop down to the Bluewater meet!
