Interesting experience. I recently purchased a 2021 UX 250h premium sport edition with 9200 miles. I have it 6 weeks and will be getting rid of it. This is the nosiest and most uncomfortable car I have owned in 44 years of driving. From what I have read the tyres are a major factor. You can feel every bump in the road. I live in Northern Ireland and our roads are poor but this car exaggerates this. Previous car VW golf 1.4 Tsi and I had it for 6 years was quiet and smooth. My wife’s 6 months old Yaris design is far quieter than the UX. Also the Yaris drive is a lot smoother. Yaris is 1.5 hybrid.  Previously owed 3 avensis, 2 Yaris, Rav. 2 BMWS, 3 Peugeots   I am so disappointed in the UX. I have always associated Lexus with quiet and smooth driving cars. Another reason I purchased was the reliability record of Lexus but this means nothing if the car is dreadful to drive. My test drive was mostly on a short motorway section so very difficult to spot the noise issues.

Tbf - whilst I changed mine for completely different reasons, boredom mainly, I found mine amazingly quiet and relaxing - it had Dunlop run flats on rather  Bridgestone and might be the difference on yours - try changing the rubbers before binning it?

  2. Well after 10 months ownership, I’ve decided to take a hit on the trade in and opted to get a Octavia vRS. So why, well…..it’s been a good companion over this period and I’ve managed a long term tank to tank average of 49.9mpg over this time which is excellent given it’s relative performance and size but a few things have just got me to a point that I needed to change:

    1) Boot is ridiculously small given the cars size - I play in a couple of rock groups and struggle to get all my gear in it and also as we have a large Sprocker when we go on holiday it’s difficult to get all our gear and hers in and end up with loads on the backseat with her.

    2) Handling sometimes leaves a lot to be desired-bends I can rattle round in a number of other cars often make me clench my arse when in the UX

    3) Despite the excellent look of the seats in the front it has started to give me sciatica on longer trips

so it’s so long and thanks for all the fish😂

Short distances in the winter, expect to get around 40 MPG long distance 50 MPG long motorway 60 MPG

Motorway driving just kills the hybrid economy as it rarely runs on Battery unless driven at lower speeds than 60mph (like all the Tesla drivers hypermiling😂) I usually get best mpg on mixed speeds on A and B roads but even though it’s been so mild recently mpg is continuing to fall - it’s due it’s first service in March so will see if they have an answer

  4. I wonder if the hive can help me - the Lexus Link app seems to only intermittently pick up journeys recently - for instance yesterday made a 120 mile journey from Anglesey to Ludlow without any stops and it only picked up about the first 40 miles of the trip and today it hasn’t picked up a 60 mile trip from Ludlow to Stafford. Has only started doing this recently so wonder if there has been a software update that has caused a glitch?

Seem to remember a post a while ago saying that the UX did not display miles left in tank, I found this quite disappointing as my then Kia Niro had it which I found quite useful.

However playing about with the squillion menus I came across it, Lexus call it cruise range, you guys may already know this of course.

Had my first after dark drive last week, the LED adaptive lights are amazing.

My wife commented that the high pitched noise from the motor when manouvering on battery alone sounded terrible. Is yours the same? is it a built in artificial noise as a warning.

Anyone know if I can change it to an F1 V10 engine noise!!!

    Bill D.

Hi Bill - if you just go up or down on the left hand steering wheel controls it shows cruise range ….
