Thanks for the advice, what i will do is that i will disinfect the whole system and leave it on auto mode after. I hope i will find the drain pipe today. I'll update this topic with pics of the location if found.

Might be an option to run the aircon all the time, but i will try to foam the condenser first. As i have read many Lexus owners have the same problem.

Hi!! Clever idea enough, i allready spotted that it is somewhere under the cover of the transmission. It is hard to see under the car, it is sitting quite low and lots of covers everywhere. The car has to be lifted and the cover to be taken off. I hoped that someone knows exactly so i don't have to mess about too much at my mechanic's place.

Hi there Lexus owners!! I have a little bit of problem and i need your help. I want to disinfect my IS300h-s air conditioning system, and i read before that the most effective way to reach the evaporator is to lift the car up and spray the disinfectant through the condense water drain pipe. Can someone please help me to locate the pipe? Thanks a lot!!

GregB replied to GregB's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
This is the third day i own the car and with commute and some funride around town my average is 45mpg so far. I have to adopt my driving style to this car and i think it will get even better. I love the instant torque it is not easy not to push the pedal to the metal 😃- 45 replies

PLANNING TO PURCHASE IS 300H
GregB replied to GregB's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Nowdays i drive only around city plus commuting 16 miles each day and my average is 23 mpg so compared to an average of 45mpg would be only half the cost for fuel. That would save me 50 pounds a month plus 10 pounds of road tax compared to 500 pounds a year... looking at autotrader each day the average milage on cars i could afford is about 75K miles. Found a white f-sport but with 99K...- 45 replies

PLANNING TO PURCHASE IS 300H
GregB replied to GregB's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
THANK YOU for your answers so far, i did the maths to compare my IS250 to the IS300H and even calculating the higher price of the 300H the costs per month would be a good 50 pounds less with the 300H. It is a good idea to calculate with the deprecation but if i decide to finance one on HP it matters much less. To buy one without finance i have to look at the high milegae ones. I drive only in the city and commuting to work 16 miles every day my annual is 10K miles. I was looking at the CT200h but i found it quite weak and small inside at the back. I drove the 300H and i was like DAYYUMM!!! If it is as reliable as the prius ot the ct200h it should be ok.- 45 replies

Hi there Lexus Owners, I am looking to buy a Lexus IS300H, but my budget only allows me to purchase one with a quite high mileage (80K-100K). I heard that these cars are extremely reliable, but still i am a bit concerned abot the high mileage. I own a Lexus IS250 and i am quite happy with the car but i got to the point where i have to try to save money on fuel and tax. I am looking for a Luxury version or a high mileage Sport. Please anyone who has a high mileage IS300H share your experiences to help me decide. THX!!

Hi there IS250 owners!!! I just got my factory clutch kit replaced after 61 K, the car drives like a dream, no judder even on low revs, lot of improvement!! The only thing bothers me is that the clutch engagement point is still too high, makes it a bit strange to drive. I thought if i get my clutch kit changed the engagement point on the pedal will get closer to the floor. All parts of the hydraulic system has been checked and bled from air. My question would be that if there is a way to adjust the pedal itself to make the engagement point of the clutch closer to the floor??? Cheers
-
My IS250 does the same, Once i filled up for points worth 5 quid, the fuel gauge went up a little bit but the remaining distance counter did not register it at all. Then after a while i had points 10 quid worth that was no problem.
-
Happy to hear that, Looks like the factory fitted kit is not the best You can get... I hate the judder.....i will wait until it slips and I will get it changed. Can You please tell me the brand of Your new kit?

Thanks For the Quick answer Steve, Could you guess or do you know what is the reasonable price of replacing it? I don't want to get ripped off by anyone.

Hi there Folks!!! I have a 2006 IS250 Manual with 58 K on the clock. The recent problem is that i can feel the clutch engagement point to be higher and higher on the clutch pedal. At the moment it is very very close to the end of the pedal travel, but the clutch is not slipping yet. It gives a bumpy ride when starting or shifting gears, and it is quite uncomfy as well. At first I thought that the clutch kit is wearing out, i bought the vehicle from a dealer, but as i have all the previous bills and MOT-s and all related stuff and the miles match up exactly to the service book, i think the mileage is genuine. Is it possible that the clutch is going after just 58K??? Is there any way to adjust the engagement point??? Could be the hydraulic cylinder??? PLEASE HELP ME.

I just googled what other IS owners reccommend..

As far as i had time to research the topics about this car, i found that castrol oils are the best for the engine and redline sythetic for the tranny, i had some squeaking noise coming from the drive belt this morning when i warmed up the car for the daily shopping run.. So.. i have to change thre drive belt and the tensioner pully...any ideas?

Hi there Lexus lovers!!! My name is Greg and i bought a Lexus IS250 manual 8 months ago with 55K on the clock. As from the last oil service i punched 8K miles in the car, i think it's time for an oil service, but also i would like to change the fluids in the car. Please Guys and Girls help me out here a bit, as some of You have much more experience what brand/quality of fluids are the best for my car. I am planning to change: Engine Oil Transmission Oil(manual) Diffgerential oil Engine coolant Brake Fluid Air filter Oil filter Pollen filter Fuel filter My Question would be if there is anything else to change (eg if the steering assist is hydraulic or if there is a crankshaft ventillation filter) and what types of oils and fluids do You reccommend. Thank You for Your help, hope to have a forum meeting some day!!
