I will do a thread on this as soon as I get it working. The annoying thing is I did have access to the complete wiring diagram on the net with all the connector details, and locations, but it has now been removed making life difficult.

I am not planning on changing the front grill, but just cutting a hole to suit the new Lexus logo badge suitable for the radar to pass through. These badges seem very expensive even SH they are around £100. This is more than I paid for all the other electronic components. 

Thanks for your offer of video help. It is appreciated. I think I have the electrics sorted when I can find where the connectors are. I am also awaiting delivery of the radar unit.

If I manage to get it up, and running I will post the details. I have just bought a radar unit for the front of the car from eBay. I made a cheeky offer of £45, and the seller accepted it.

I have the full instructions for aligning the radar unit, but may try using a lazer system I have to align it for both height, and centre axis. This will then not need an empty large carpark to align the radar unit.

If anyone can help I need to know the location of wiring connector plug, and sockets BA2, and LA2. These plug, and sockets join different sections of the wiring loom.

Thanks Chris that's just what I was looking for.
I have bought for £20 and fitted the distance control ECU (L13) to the existing wiring, and mounting bracket under the dash. I have yet to source a millimeter radar distance sensor (B8) to fit at the front of the car. The wires for this do not seem to be ready installed "I have to look deeper", but there are only 5 in total. A ground wire, a signal ground to the hybrid ECU (A55), an ignition Battery feed, and two more that go to the distance ECU (L13).
I know I will also need the Lexus logo badge for radar for the front grill, and fit a micro switch to the steering wheel to set the distance. The single wire needed for this is already there plus ground.

That complete wiring diagram was available on line from Russia until early this year when it was removed. I would have copied it to a CD had I known it was going to vanish.

The 2000ma rating is better than your 1800ma rating. It is the 12 volt that matters. If you have an old internet router power supply these are usually rated at 12 volts.

Hello Geoff.

Set you meter to a DC voltage range of around 20 volts or whatever is close to that. With the power supply plugged in and turned on connect your meter probes to the two terminals on the jack plug "it does not matter which way".
The meter should read the voltage output of the power supply "usually marked on the power supply". You may get a negative reading. Swapping the meter probes will correct this.

The reason I was given for the overheating of the direct injectors was that the combustion temperature is higher running on LPG than petrol. I am not prepared to be a guinea pig by being the first to try this, and bow to the expertise of the installers I have contacted.

I believe the RX450H uses the same engine as the GS450H "I could be wrong", and as such is not suitable for LPG conversion. This is because the engine has duel injection, and the direct injector tips get over heated with no fuel being injected to cool them while running LPG.
I researched converting my GS450H, but the only way was to run with a mixed fuel system running the direct injectors with a small amount of fuel at all times. This to me removed most of the reason for running LPG by reducing the fuel cost saving.

There is however a comprehensive  Diagnostic and Schematics in VOL 4.I dont suppose they expect someone to try and retrofit this as it was factory only fit . I wish you luck . The schematics will allow you to figure it out if you are an "ace of the base"

I will keep you informed as to how I get on with this little project, and of course if I am successful I will do a write up on the forum  on how to.

I am in the process of retro fitting radar distance control to my GS450H. The distance control ECU is under the dash is pre- wired "and now fitted" as is the distance set switch wiring in the steering wheel, but the switch is not fitted. The radar distance unit in front of the rads does not appear to be pre-wired. I know it only has five wires going to it two of which will be the 12 volt supply leaving only three wires to connect to the body ECU in the engine compartment by the side of the fuse box. Two of these wires are probably CAN bus wires, and the third possibly an enable?
I am a retired electronics engineer so connecting this sort of thing does not phase me, but a pin to pin diagram for this unit would be very helpful. I have the setup procedure for aligning the radar unit, and the enabling method for the actual ECU. I also have Techstream to follow any fault codes.

What I'm sure though is the oil aeration and foaming, which will happen due to crankshaft rotation. As a result you might loose pressure and flow which will end up as a damage. 

Above is of course only valid for wet oil sumps which GS got.

 There is quite big margin before it will happen so 100ml or 200ml shouldn't make any difference. Just make sure your spark plugs/combustion is good and your engine don't add  extra fuel into oil over time 🙂

 

I agree that raising the oil level buy what will be an amount almost unmeasurable on the dipstick will have no impact what so ever on the engine oil pressure. If there were any increase "which there will not be" the oil pressure release valve will adjust the pressure accordingly.
The overfill of 200ml represents a 3% of capacity, and is probably a smaller measurement than the difference in sump capacity along with dipstick tolerance in production. 

As you correctly state over filling in exstream circumstances can lead to oil foaming, and this in turn can lead to a reduction in oil pressure. To put the OP's mind at rest the amount of overfill in this case is insignificant.

As Collin above says 200ml is not going to cause a problem, and I would leave it as is. If you wish to do something about it possibly the easiest way to drain a small amount is to undo the oil filter, and then refit.

Ideally you should use the OEM Toyota SLLC coolant "supper long life coolant" available either ready mixed or in concentrate form. This is designed to last 10 years or 120,000 miles. You can order it of eBay. Do not worry if the coolant is low in the container as long as it is above minimum. It will be ok to use the car until the new fluid arrives.
You can use some water to lift the level a little if you are really concerned. The amount required will not seriously dilute the coolant as a one off fix till you are able to refill with the correct fluid.

Landsail are very quiet tyres on the GS, and excellent in the wet. They also seem to have good tread life.
I have also in the past found Goodyear Efficientgrip performance tyres to be very quiet, but sadly lacking in tyre ware life only lasting 16,000 miles on a set of 4 on my GS450H.  I would expect at leased 25,000 miles considering they are twice the price of the Landsails so not good value.

Check also the area around the engine coolant pump for signs of pink encrusted salts. A sign of seal leakage. Check also for play in the pump bearings. 
My Gs450H was diagnosed by the dealers as needing a pump change because of low coolant level while being serviced. They did not top the fluid up but left it low. I topped it up, and it did not loose any fluid in the next 60,000 miles. I have just changed the pump as part of my head to toe service while SORNed. The pump showed no signs of leakage, but did have perceptible bearing play.

One of the real anomalies of the hybrid system is that if the engine does run while reversing it actually fights against the electric motors driving the car backwards reducing the available reverse power.
If you need to reverse up a steep slope and the hybrid Battery is low on power it is better to force charge the Battery. Putting the car in "D" holding it with the foot brake, and revving the engine until the Battery has a reasonable level of charge. Then reverse up the slope.
It is not unknown for the Prius/CT200h to refuse to move up a steep slope in reverse with the engine running. What other Toyota/Lexus hybrid vehicles are affected as much I do not know, but I suspect most are.

Hi Tony.
It sounds like you Lexus has a minor leak of the AC gas. There are possibly two ways of dealing with this.
The first is to have the system re- gassed, and have a special dye put in at the same time. This dye shows up under ultra violet light so that any leak can be traced,  repaired, and then re-gassed again.
The second way is to have an AC leak sealant put into the system when it is re-gassed. This only works on minor leaks "as yours is likely to be as it took some time to stop working" , and works by a special chemical sealing the leak as it meets oxygen from the atmosphere, and cannot clog the system in any way. This can be very effective.

I am running version 13.00.022 on one Windows 10 computer, and an early version "about 10 years old I think about version 8 " on another Windows XP computer. Both work equally  as well. I bought adapters with the programs on disc from eBay at about £25. If you go this route make sure the version you are buying is suitable for the version of Windows you are running as the drivers are different.
No activation code needed. If you have a Toyota/Lexus car be it hybrid or not this will pay for it's self the first time you use it.
