I like the firmer but quieter ride of the duellers for summer and i have blue earth v906s as my winters which surprised me.

Plates are quite literally, a sticking plaster. No issue for a determined thief. They'll work it out soon enough.
It doesn't need them to work it out, it just needs to be enough of a pain in the arse that they decide its too risky faffing about for the £100 they get for the parts

I remember the Enterprise - D had a coolant leak in the warp core.
Didn't end too well.

The damaged was quoted at around £4000. My excess was in excess of £1000. Still unable to get a reasonable quote.
Wow that is a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Most will not quote, but most quotes are between £2000 and £5000 for rubbish cover with a huge excess. I am told Lexus are doing something but it will be too late - as I have already had to pay a large excess to repair the damage on one attempted theft. Add the huge premium - it is just too much.
out of curiosity, would you be willing to share what Lexus charged to repair the damage?

Yeah, dealers like to get rid of the stock they have bought first over factory orders. They can't really refuse you a factory order, they just get lumbered with cars pilling up on their forecourt (possibly waiting for car thieves to pinch them). I have a feeling they have to shift those within 30 or 60 days or something otherwise their sales managers are not happy.

How will this fix work with the Ghost 2? Will it fix access to the canbus but screw up the Ghost or not affect it? Guess its too early to speculate.

Also one post that stated there was a newer improved version, but I don't believe this has been verified.
I know personally where the plates have deterred 2 thefts but if someone is that determined, have the time, the tools and are willing to attempt to take it they will try.

If only they made a 3.5 V6 petrol version for the UK

Do we take to the streets of London and protest every week?

I know of an RX that has the security plates fitted and has foiled 2 attempts of theft.
If you haven't had them fitted get them fitted and get them checked when you have the car serviced.

I would have a look at who underwrites both and compare

Its all about the fat cat CEO, the share holder and making a bigger profit than the previous year.
The who industry IMHO is just using the customer to print money for them. I don't think risk is as big as an issue as they say, thats just an excuse.

Does LV mean "Low Value"? as in they will only insure low value cars

Not that I have tried, more curious if you can use the phone's camera to send video and show on the display and use the touch screen.

Has anyone tried to see if you can run MS Teams over Android Auto?

Does LBX stand for a "Load of B0110X"? For example, insurance quotes are a LBX. Maybe we could start a trend here, I'm sure Lexus Japan would love that. Might push them in to doing something positive.

Just saw this online. Its an epidemic and not just Lexus.

Is this new solution compatible with Ghost?

... and don't let them fob us off with c**p excuses. Keep challenging them.

I think the key is to keep pressuring Lexus CS like we did to get them to develop the plates.

So its cheaper to get the breakdown company to come out and charge me membership prices and no labour charges than Lexus to charge me top dollar plus labout.
New Battery, guaranteed for 5 years, happy days.

Does anyone know how long the 12V Battery is warrantied for?
Mine is three and a half years, I am hoping they have a 5 year warranty like Bosh.
Thanks

My understanding is they strip the parts and because they are not getting a lot for them just a £100 maybe £200, they collect them in cages and sell them by the cage full. These are organised gangs that send different teams to different areas and do a lot in one go. If they go after cars that are in areas that are risky places for them and they then have the added time of messing about to bypass the plates, they are not going to risk getting caught and will move on.
