  1. I know of an RX that has the security plates fitted and has foiled 2 attempts of theft. If you haven't had them fitted get them fitted and get them checked when you have the car serviced.
  2. Its all about the fat cat CEO, the share holder and making a bigger profit than the previous year. The who industry IMHO is just using the customer to print money for them. I don't think risk is as big as an issue as they say, thats just an excuse.
  3. Does LV mean "Low Value"? as in they will only insure low value cars
  4. Not that I have tried, more curious if you can use the phone's camera to send video and show on the display and use the touch screen.
  5. Has anyone tried to see if you can run MS Teams over Android Auto?
  6. Does LBX stand for a "Load of B0110X"? For example, insurance quotes are a LBX. Maybe we could start a trend here, I'm sure Lexus Japan would love that. Might push them in to doing something positive.
  7. Just saw this online. Its an epidemic and not just Lexus.
  8. ... and don't let them fob us off with c**p excuses. Keep challenging them.
  9. I think the key is to keep pressuring Lexus CS like we did to get them to develop the plates.
  10. So its cheaper to get the breakdown company to come out and charge me membership prices and no labour charges than Lexus to charge me top dollar plus labout. New battery, guaranteed for 5 years, happy days.
  11. Does anyone know how long the 12V battery is warrantied for? Mine is three and a half years, I am hoping they have a 5 year warranty like Bosh. Thanks
  12. What Lexus owners need to do is get together, use an RX as bait, and when the thieves appear, all jump out and ... (of course for legal purposes, I was going to say make a citizens arrest)
  13. Thats not a bad price, I am estimating £200 a tyre. I got Yoko's on as winters as that was the only thing available and they do the job satisfactorily but the ride is too soft. People say the Bridgestone (summers) are too firm but I prefer that but the wet handling on them are average. May try the Goodyear but its an expensive mistake if I don't like the ride.
  14. Its coming up to that time to swap the winters for the summers but this year I need to replace the set. I don't want to put on all seasons like the CC2s. So started to compare the best options. Has anyone tried the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV? Currently or up to now I used the Bridgestone Duellers and I like the firm quiet ride I get, or at least compared to my soft winters. Just wondering what people have and the experience in wet and dry, ride and noise. Thanks
  15. If the damage is minor, might as well leave it. At least the thieves will see someone had a go but its not worth the time and effort. Not the ideal solution but might make them move on to another one.
  16. I used to have a copy of the £6K quote from lexus insurance somewhere. Happy to provide this if I can find it and my personal details are removed.
  17. At least the plates work. Might be worth leaving the bumper for a bit, at least it tells other thieves the car is protected and they may leave it alone.
  18. Try beating the £6K that Lexus Insurance quoted me. Absolute sham when the manufacturers branded insurers won't insure their own vehicles. Tells you a lot about how they see their customers.
  19. With the current thefts going on, I would be reluctant to fit any remote start. Just one extra thing to secure.
  20. The steering is speed sensitive so it changes according to how you are driving
  21. Maybe a permanent sticker with "CanBus Protected" on the wheel arch? I also think that having some windows stickers advertising a brand of security stopped them from doing any further damage and they gave up
  22. Anyone know of any super hard bonding or resin that could be applied over the edge of the plastics (wheel arches and bumper gaps) to stop them inserting a tool in there in the first place? Just fill the gaps and they can't take them off.
