  1. Just came back from appointment. Had a drive around with Lexus technician and then they took me for a spin in the same model to compare. Need to admit I was probably panicking to much, because everybody have the same problem with brakes, maybe it`s just my ears are to sensitive. I requested to find one non hybrid IS, because I want to compare it to hybrid one and we will see, maybe petrol turbo will work out better than hybrid.

However they do admit that during cold winter months when there is lot of salt on the roads it corrodes brake discs and pads and that makes brakes work louder than in other seasons, proof to that is my brake sound become more quiet.

  2. Hi, I`m facing now the same issue big time! I bought the car a bit more than one month ago and brake groaning (low deep noise creak) is just unbearable, it`s so embarrassing for the brand new 35k car. I will call my Lexus dealer today with request to sort it out, no matter how I love this car I`m prepared to give it back. I will keep you updated how it goes with them,  this is one of the biggest frustrations in Lexus so far.

Whats your problem Finzky? This is a genuine thread. The wind noise I'm getting knarked off with is annoying. It will get brought up when I take my car in when they look at my bluetooth issue.

If they can't or won't resolve it then they'll be having the car back.

My previous premium premier didn't suffer with with wind noise so why should I have to tolerate this car having it.

Mr Vlad please don't take it so personally, didn't meant to insult you or your thread. I do agree it's not common about wind noise and nobody died from light banter.

    Be well.

Great colour on a great car.

Also, what a great car park! Walkway spaces between the cars so you can open your doors. Where is it?

Malcom it's in Costco Wembley. I think each Costco have these gaps between cars in parking spaces and I do agree it's very cool.

Finzky don' get paranoid. The wind noise only happens above 60mph.

Literally come back home 5 min ago, went to mway to double check - nothing. No sound anomalies detected in UK motorway speed limit margins (+/-) .

Stubborn and waiting for rain to test it then, why not...

Funny enough, read today one review from some lady about Lexus experience on trustpilot about noise, oh common guys... really? Got a feeling my next subject of topic will be "I don't like when rain drops falling on my lexus or how to protect paint on my Lexus whilst I`m escaping from aliens".  :)

  7. Oraine, just take it to the official dealer and they will sort it out. It might be the same cost at the end if you will compare your time and part cost when you are trying to sort it out by yourself. Thanks and good luck with this.

  8. Hi Nigel, congratulations I wish you lot of happy miles with your Lexus. Please do not hesitate to add more details about your car and we are happy to see any pictures as well.

My story started from CT200h which I bought in 2016 - overall very nice car for city commute, but I wanted something more from Lexus...

So few weeks ago I picked up my new bad boy 17reg IS300h (picture below). Same day had quite long motorway run and I was pleased with everything: how I feel inside and how car drives. Since I sat in the car at dealers and still until now I have kind of butterflies in my stomach when I`m driving this car in fact I just love it! All interior materials been done with hi quality finish, ultra modern design, durability and that car is build by professionals you will feel any single time when you will drive it. In my opinion huge step forward been updated multimedia system and display console. Car acceleration is quite impressive, off course you won`t be able to outrun petrol beasts like M`s or AMG`s, but believe me it`s more than enough for UK roads! I couldn`t find any irritating at all apart of some small bits with which you can live with and can be sorted pressing extra buttons. So I don`t really have nothing to add negative only positive. I`m not sure about your budget, but be prepared that service costs is a bit hi, but you get all service on top level. My politics is very simple: if I was able to buy car I will be able to service it only at Lexus and even if I know I can get tyre cheaper fitted somewhere else, I won`t do it because I will better pay few quid more, but will get that peace in my mind car been serviced and touched only by Lexus dealership.

  9. Sad to hear this, you are very lucky to have it under warranty. There is no doubt this is very frustrating for you, but I think you are just very unlucky with this as this is rare occasion when cars under warranty broke down especially lexus.

Wish your car speedy recovery and plenty of more hassle free miles, keep us posted.

    Cheers

  10. Don`t want to be funny, but both my lexus when purchased came from dealer with smart insurance cover for cost £499 for three years which means I'm covered for minor damages and can claim it with excess of £10 and it won`t affect my no claims cos it`s separate thing. On my first CT200h somebody scratched rear bumper and that was fixed by smart insurance company. Next door from my workplace is auhorised jemca body repair shop they said it would cost me £300 + vat to fix at least.

Anybody of us soon or late will have minor scratches/damages on the car and I think sometimes we are getting to much paranoid how we can protect our babies from obvious circumstances which will leave impact on car. Yes I do agree heart shivers even when somebody reversing close to your car, but thats the life. My suggestion if you are not doing any upgrade/tuning to parts, just get yourself separate cover from minor damages and sleep well...

Mine is indeed an 85-Litre doughnut tank and the most gas I've managed to get in was on one cold winter day when it took 75.3 litres.

You've probably seen the photos already but in the one below, 1 is the Flashlube reservoir, 2 is the gas ECU and 3 is the gas reducer. You can't really see much of the tank but the next picture shows tank and filler point. If you're not going to tow anything then that's a great place for the filler because you can easily fill from both sides.

EDIT: I've just noticed that you've got the SE-L so it'll have air suspension. I have no idea where the compressor is located but maybe it's something to do with that - either compressor or pipework - that may be stopping him fitting an 85-litre tank for you? I don't know, just a complete guess.

When I see something like this, I got paranoid that if somebody reversing and there is some obstacle that obstacle can easily damage lpg tank...

  12. Hi, please can somebody advise me why my screen is changing after car been switched off and on? In this instance I used radio and after car been switched off and started again navigation menu comes up instead of radio. I attached pictures below what was before and what came up later. I`m finding it quite annoying because even if the map would pop up - it`s ok, but why menu appears straight away, that means each single time when I`m starting car again I need to press back menu or again set up menu what I want to see... It`s extra movement and it is quite annoying to press extra buttons before you can enjoy the ride. Thanks

  13. When I got my CT (first Lexus) I was expecting from multimedia system and generally from the entertainment more than I actually got, but that frustration was gone very quickly because a) you get use to it b) driving comfort takes first place. I know it`s good to have systems, but how often do you need to use entertainment systems when you are actually driving? All simple things can be easy accessed, so for me it`s not a problem, but I do know how you feel.  I upgraded my CT to IS300h, to be honest with you they are progressing in that way, maybe you should swap the car later on for the same only with better multimedia, generally speaking you won`t be disappointed with your new car! P.S - I do agree on some kind of "new" models entertainment system is out of date.

  14. I did drove 4 day`s in the row: London - Manchester - London and Few times to London - Plymouth - London in two days and London - Skegness - London several times (+ other motorway runs to airports etc), so you can imagine I have really good feeling about how CT perform on motorway. All of us know how we are driving on motorways: always obey highway code and  depends on weather/road conditions. Sometimes we can be a bit cheeky and increase speed limits if road is empty (I`m not proud to say this, but I did floored pedal few times until cars electronic brains won`t let me go any faster). CT is not highway banger for sure and will loose to any other petrol 1.8 engines or diesels in relatively high speeds, acceleration will be slow and noisy, but the actual cruising 70-80 mph is absolutely perfect and I personally find it very good and economical. I found big difference between A and M roads. M roads and some of the A roads require quick acceleration especially overtaking on A roads - I done few when I was sure there is no oncoming traffic, otherwise I did miss extra power to finish with manoeuvre quicker and one time it was quite scary: driver who I intended to overtake floored pedal deliberately when I was next to him and won`t let me overtake him, so I had no extra power to outrun him and had to push on brakes and pull back behind him and then w****r pulled off the road in next junction (If I would have a chance I would give him couple of slaps for sure).

Conclusion: If you want to go with traffic flow and increase speed a bit sensibly when necessary it will work out absolutely fine even on motorways, but if you looking for that extra power reserve just to have for any A road overtaking occasion go for IS 100%.

Sorry forgot to add: CT is noisy... unfortunately.

  15. Hi all,

As beginner in Lexus world i had ct200h advance plus 65reg and love it to the pieces for comfy ride and everything else was more better than in "other" cars, but felt I had to get more from Lexus. My desire was to get decent NX, untill I saw this... 17reg IS300H F - Sport. My decission was very spontaneously and devil in my mind opened my mailbox and with my hands wrote to lexus dealership and here we go, proudly announcing today in the morning I become happy owner of below car.  I hope I will be able to cope without: M&L (yes unfortunately) and sunroof, not sure about heated steering wheel. It`s seems like I opened another world for me to discover having this as my daily ride now...next friday pick up from dealer!

I was loaned an NX whilst my CT was having recall work done and to be honest I found it very uninteresting and too big. It only had the standard stereo system which was terrible(mine has the Mark Levinson).

I was glad to get the CT back. Of course this is just my opinion and don't want to put anybody off buying one.

Stormchaser it`s good to hear independent opinions. In my case I`m saving money slowly to get NX as next car when PCP on my current CT200h will be done. Since I bought CT200h I knew that I want NX, even not want, but desire. I would drive my CT200h for ages, but I really miss that extra acceleration when needed especially on motorways. If you had a chance to get NX on motorway run, please share your opinion/thoughts. Thanks

  17. Serviced my baby on Friday 1st of September at Lexus Edgware road (London). Everything was perfect apart of bill lol, but since I bought the car I set in stone in my mind that I won`t let to touch this expensive (bottom of range, but for me it`s still expensive) toy nobody apart of authorised dealership garages. Yes I could save few quid here and there if I would do it in different places, but decided to build FULL  (and I mean the FULL) service history has to be from Lexus, even if I need to change simple things like vipers it will be done in Lexus and I will have record that even small things been done only at Lexus. Car washed, hovered and given back to me in brilliant state - no complains!

When I bought the car (and still until now), I`m very worried when leaving it in narrow (packed) parking spaces, I still get worried if catching pot holes, I still get worried when my missus is scratching wheels against the kerbs and I have to swallow it, but guys bear in your mind we are getting back from Lexus cars generally that what we are expecting to receive for all our worries.

This could be a bit silly, but I always paying more extra attention as Lexus owner to other Lexus cars on the road and you know what - 90% they are bloody smiling when driving their cars, so am I... Correct one bloke before mentioned that everything is about respect, other things can just happen, let`s try to draw a line where we need to worry and where we are getting a bit paranoid and that`s it...
