  1. Get that thing to the dealer ASAP! As the person above has said, they should do this for you free of charge. Having doors that lock is definitely an essential aspect of owning a car I'd say. Is the boot affected by this issue too or is it literally just the doors?

Hope you can get this sorted quickly mate

  2. I'm about 5'11" so you've got a few inches on me there but I wouldn't have thought this would ever be an issue. When you were sat in the car in the showroom did you have a fiddle with the seat to see if it was just one of the seat adjustment settings? It could well have been this, as someone as said they're 6'4" and have no problems getting in and out.

Such a shame if there's no way to adjust things to make things comfortable for you though, they're really great cars.

  3. The short answer to your question is... yes. It would be worth getting a CT200h.

The footbrake is very intuitive and is actually quite easy to get used to. And around-town driving is extremely smooth and goes down very well. You will get mixed reviews for a lot of cars out there but at the end of the day both myself and one of my close friends both have a CT200h and we both absolutely love them, just a very nice car to own and a very reliable machine.

We drive thru Spain every year, after taking boat from Portsmouth. So easy in Spain , nice clear new motorways. Used to drive thru France aswell But now we have visited places like Bordeaux, La Rochelle ,Biarritz we don’t bother with France anymore.

Roads not great in France , endless tolls and you can guarantee to be stopped by police .

Would like to do east Europe in the future

What's it like coming back to the UK roads every time? I always imagine getting the driving experience in a foreign country would actually make you better over here once you switch back over to your regular ways of driving.

Indeed. But still the motoring press hates them; says alot about the motoring press who only have eyes/praise for all things Germanic ('cause they're paid by them to be biased #fakenews).

This forum helped me choose my CT. All professional reviews were awful until I read the real (owners') reviews.

Every year Lexus win the owners' awards. It's only these polls that count.

I would definitely agree that user reviews on forums are more reliable and you get a certain honesty that you wouldn't find anywhere else. However I wouldn't outright dismiss professional reviews and reviews from magazines etc as it's good to get some quality technical info

well done, it's good to Name and Shame

"Naming and shaming" is one thing, but trying to warn others and prevent someone from having their vehicle stolen is a completely different story.

If you were aware that someone was a murderer, you'd want to warn other people, right? You'd want to prevent them from killing more people? Well, same goes here albeit for a different crime. Merely trying to save others from being robbed.

And even if I did go into details in this post (which I didn't by the way, I simply linked), then I wouldn't exactly call it "naming and shaming". It's not like this person is an honest and hardworking individual. This is a sham transport company designed to steal from actual honest, hardworking people.

A thoroughly nasty individual. Still, he lives in a nice area in a lovely new built house. Cheats are never meant to prosper but he seems to. Why can the police not do him for theft which to my way of thinking looks an easy way to give him a bloodied nose.

Thanks for the post its always good to get details on these low life.

No worries, just trying to warn others so no one else gets involved with this thief. If this post even stops 1 person from working with him then it's a job well done and a lot of time and money saved. I have no idea how he's not behind bars.

  8. Thinking about it now, I've had issues with my car because of "uneven wear" on the tyres a fair few times over the years. I quite often find myself having to pay for wheel alignment when getting new rubbers. I was just wondering what anyone has to say about what they think the main cause is? Road surface? Driving style? Weather based on where you live?

  9. Just behind the rearview mirror so it's not obstructing your view would be best. You have to be careful where abouts you place it because I read somewhere that it can be illegal if you place it somewhere where it really obviously obstructs your view. It's probably best to place it slightly out of view anyway because if you have a more expensive dash cam then thieves might even try to break into your car just to take it. The same can be said even with cheaper dash cams really though, all are good and useful pieces of tech really.

  10. Anyone got any suggestions on which I should get out of these?

(All should be shown on this link: https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/215-45-17)

    Comforser CF700

    GT Radial Sport Active

    Bridgestone Turanza T005

    Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3

They're for my 2016 CT 200h. Don't really want to go with the Comforsers because I'd rather spend a bit more money on a set of tyres for the added safety/grip/fuel economy. Has anyone had any experience with any of these tyres?

  11. For me it's about performance, cost, design and materials. E.g a car built with carbon fibre is obviously going to be the "premium" choice over a car made with other materials, which also effects cost. This will probably also make it a hell of a lot more exclusive, and will likely be made be a high end and already "premium" brand. So they're all tied closely together.

Although you mention styling is very subjective, which I agree with, I do think it has something to do with making a car appear "premium". Even though it may not add much in terms of performance and won't effect the technologies within the vehicle, the styling definitely factors into whether or not the car is heavily sought after imo.

Think of it like beauty standards outside of the automotive industry: beauty is most definitely subjective to each and every person, yet some individuals are highly regarded as being "beautiful" or "good-looking" because they tick so many people's boxes of what looks good.
