I also replied to this. Cynic in me says it seems to be a very expensive hourly rate. 

The previous survey was about combining Lexus and Toyota servicing together. 

What are they up to?

Most probably worn drop links. You can't really check them for play by just jacking the car up and letting the suspension hang. Needs to go onto a solid ramp.

If you've got a new set  to go on, drill a small hole in the old ones, insert an allen key, and pull with pliers.

To me, it's a strange thing to worry about. What would worry me is that if that 18 litres is always in reserve, wouldn't it had gone off by now, rendering it useless if it was ever needed.......

Please ask if they can update their systems so that those cars with personal plates can be identified. All government sites, and spare parts dealers can find my car. When I call a Lexus/Toyota dealer, I either have to quote the original registration number, or they have to input manually.

Just had a detailed survey via email from Lexus. 'How would I feel if my car could be serviced to Lexus standards at Toyota?'

Well being as it would be 2 miles away instead of 32, and if prices were midway between Lexus and Toyota, bring it on!!!

I had similar problem on a Prius. Change of spark plugs sorted it. Try an Italian tune up first!

I consider it essential to have two keys. If you only have one, and lose it, you have no hope of getting into or moving the car. Then, a way will have to be found to reprogram everything to accept new keys. That'll cost more than getting second key now.

When on holiday, I always take the other key to either leave in the hotel, or give to my wife. In the old days, a magnetic box in the engine bay that I could reach from underneath.

When I was 18, my first car was an Austin A30,a present from my parents. 

With some present money I purchased a bottle of Redex, along with other stuff. 

First spannering job was to remove the plugs and giving each cylinder a good squirt.

We lived in a close, and the result didn't go down well with the neighbours. The whole close vanished in thick smoke, taking ages to clear. 

With all the hot weather we've had, there is a possibility that the tank has imploded, thus reducing capacity drastically. Have seen it before. 

My mountain bike has Slime anti puncture fluid in the inner tube. And they're fitted with green dust caps.....

My grandson likes to pop the boot open by pressing the button under the steering wheel of my RC300h. He also turned off the parking sensors next to it. Guess who managed to tap the rear bumper on a low wall.......

If it has the same set up as a Prius, it is most probably the drop links on the front suspension. Difficult to spot if the car is jacked up as then there will be no play. Best on a four poster ramp as the wheels are then on the 'ground'. Grasping the rod should then reveal play.

I think this is exacerbated by the tyre pressure warning systems. Before these, wise people checked tyre pressures every couple of weeks necessitating dust cap removal, and the caps were often plastic. Now there's no need. Mine rarely need adjustment, so are hardly ever removed. So I use a bit of vaselene to lubricate every 6 months or so. 

Just go to settings and invoke the ignore user option. I did  a long time ago.....

I've had 2 cars with Bridgestone tyres fitted, and both sets needed replacing due to cracking, despite being very careful maintaining correct pressures. Both sets had plenty of tread left across the full width.

Quite often, good finance and lease deals sway an owners decision. That may be so in your area.

Was on holiday in Madeira last year and Dacia people carrier Taxis were the main choice of newer vehicles. There were also the usual Mercedes 123, 124, 201 and 190's about.

I've had mine for more than 50 years, and I don't give a flying f*** what other people think! 

My RC300h is the same. Obviously noticed and touched it when cold. Assume it's to allow for expansion when hot, but haven't checked it then.

Cost of road tax. Cost of fuel. Low mpg.  Having to pay for the better fuel. Cost of living. Working from home. Plus things I haven't thought of!!!
