New to Lexus - loving it so far!

I have recently bought a 66 RC 300H F Sport and I have a question. When I connect my iPhone to the car it auto connects the telephone but also auto connects the Audio via bluetooth. This means that if I get an alert from my iPhone, I can't hear it as it doesn't play through the speakers. So each time I get into the car I have to disconnect the Audio bluetooth connection so I can hear alerts as I drive...do you know if there is a way around this? I have an iPod that has all my music and that is hardwired connected to the car permanently so I don't store music on my iPhone.
