  1. Thanks, Colin. So, what do you suggest I do next?
  2. I've a 2009 RX450h. I recently managed to hit the kerb at a local pinch point. I knackered the nearside tyre and damaged the hydraulic damper. I replaced both items. I've had the steering checked for alignment, had it corrected and a report printed. All good. The steering I feel is best described as "woolly." I suspect that something else is causing that "woolliness" Any ideas? Could it bee the steering box? PS I've asked my local Lexus Centre and they can do a diagnostic check for which I consider I'll need to save up! Thanks in advance
  3. Hi Andrew. Thanks for replying. Yes, the gauge on the dash is operating. Anything else? Thanks. Nigel
  4. I'm not able to increase the temperature in the car. The buttons indicate the temp required but no heat is produced. Could this be an airlock or something else. It's going to get colder soon so having a working heater would be good! Anyone had the same issue/know how to resolve the issue? Thanks. Nigel
  5. Has anyone a complete Towbar with removeable ball that's lurking in the garage, looking for a 2009 RX 450h to be fitted to? I'm looking for one that wont need the rear bumper to be cut/modified, if at all possible. Thanks for looking! Nigel
  6. Hi Dan D. Your last para is probably the key! Will give it a go. Thanks a lot,Nigel
  7. On the drivers side, in order to get a cabin temperature of 19.5C I have to select at least 28C before the temperature increases. I suspect the thermostat, or..... Has anyone encountered this issue and have a solution? Thanks, Nigel
  8. I have now found the cause of the spurious alarms. Nothing wrong with the car...it was a small field mouse that had decided to climb up into the car and run around the top of the dash! I installed a couple of humane traps and was able to evict the little blighter back into the Forest. I actually was directed the mouse route by a US You tube video! The producer of the clip had had a procession of "critters" getting inside his car/truck. So with this info I installed the trap and a favourable result was achieved! Moral of the story....check its not a mouse before further detailed (and no doubt, expensive) investigation! Nigel
  9. Hi Michael. Thanks for your reply, its appreciated! What I'd like to do is to make you an offer of £200 for the roof rails, the front to back ones, delivered. I'm in the New Forest in Hampshire. All the best, Nigel
  10. Hi S. I'm looking too for a set for my 2009 RX450h. In the event that you're offered 2 sets, please let me know! Thanks Nigel
  11. Anyone help? Is it OK to connect a battery charger, directly to the terminals of that battery in the boot of my 2009 450H? I managed to flatten I believe that battery when leaving the radio & doors open for a couple of hours. After reference to the handbook I junp started the car from another via removal of the engine covers and connection to the indicated terminals. It was a real faf and took a fair time to accomplish! I guess by jump starting the car in this way puts volts to the battery in the boot? Its easer to get at that battery, if needed, hence the question. Thanks for your help. Nigel
  12. I believe the last owner was being honest..... No dash cam fitted so not that. Its not been particularly windy, here on the South Coast. In fact the last alarm occurrence was at 0400 and from memory the air was still. Im wondering if I might identify the cause of the fault by commecting it to a comptor? On an earlier BMW I owned you could identify an occurrence of a fault and not the cause of it. I'm currently switching off the theft alarm as per the handbook so no alarms, at least as yet! Any further ideas would be welcome. Nigel
  13. I reported recently on an issue with the theft/ intruder alarm on my 2009 RX 350h , acquired a month or so ago. I’ve now had 3 “spurious” alarms during the night when the car was parked on the drive. I’ve taken to switching off the theft alarm, remembering to switch it off each time a leave the car as it resets to ON as a matter of routine.I've no experience or evidence of say an animal jumping on the car and suspect there could be something wrong with the alarm itself. Is it possible to determine a component fault if connected to a diagnostic computor? Any other suggestions as to what to test/ investigate? Thanks for your help. Nigel. PS have spoken to the previous owner and he’s never had an issue!
  14. Anyone had a similar experience? The last 2 evenings the alarm has gone off at 0030 & the night before 0400. Lovely! I can’t see any logical reason for the alarm going off, no cats, animals, or thieves, in would appear. I’ve taken to switching the alarm off at the overhead switch where the internal light switches are until the issue can be identified. Anyone help? Thanks, Nigel
