  1. If anyone on here wants it make me an offer. I'm based in South Croydon and would consider taking a drive, within reason*, to deliver it. (Good opportunity to actually use the car!) If you are interested and need it shipped I'd look into costs and come to some agreement. * wouldn't want to spend more on fuel than the deal brings in!!!
  2. I bought my NX back in June knowing I'd need to replace the tyres fairly soon. At some point the offside front has been replaced with an Excelon Tyre which still has 6.5mm of tread left. (225/60HR 18 approx £89 retail price) I'll be replacing all four tyres with Michelin Cross Climate tyres in the near future. I wondered if anyone might want to buy the newish Excelon tyre as I'd have no use for it from now on? Failing that, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might make use of what is virtually a new tyre?
  3. My ipod was stolen from my previous vehicle and I have not replaced it... yet. I have a Samsung Android phone and wondered, as its always with me in the car, whether I would be better served using the phone as my music on the go source or buying another ipod. If the phone is better, which app do folks use? Go gently on me I'm generally OK with tech but as a silver (retired) surfer I'm definitely not up to speed with music apps.
  4. Many thanks for your comprehensive explanation. I've learned a lot!
  5. A letter to Honest John in Saturday's Telegraph motoring section read as follows:- Last volts One of my neighbours has a Lexus hybrid that had a flat battery after two weeks of inactivity. My other neighbour has two Toyota hybrids and is concerned that they will also get flat batteries through them not being used during present restrictions. Will he need to get a charger to keep them topped up? DP You are referring to the 12v car system batteries, not the hybrid drive batteries. It is common for them to go flat if the car is not regularly driven distances, simply because the combustion engine is only running part of the time and therefore not always charging the 12v battery via the alternator. The best answer is to regularly use the cars to drive distances of at least 20 miles every two weeks or so. Tell them to ask a dealer whether they can use a battery conditioning float charger to keep the 12v battery topped up via a power point in the garage and also ask how to connect it because there are separate jump start points under the bonnet from those on the battery itself. They will need a smart charger such as a CTEK CT5. which is specifically for AGM stop/start batteries. As this seems to fit my situation i.e. low mileages, would you advise me to get a charger and put the car on charge occasionally?
  6. Picked up my Lexus NX 300H on Friday 31st July. Came across this group entirely by accident! Astonished at the lack of attention by our local Lexus dealer. If it were not for a particular staff member at the showroom (Not the so called salesman I first met) I might have gone elsewhere. Things I've discovered since picking up the car:- 1) There is a Lexus web site where you can download manuals. I find its much easier to read such things on screen. 2) This group exists.
