I removed the rear seat earlier, no leaks visible but the smell was STRONG. Managed to get the car on a ramp and it looks like a hose at the very tippy top of the tank either leaked, or is leaking. Is there an overflow pipe there? Only noticed the tank, because the rear of the O/S sill was very petrol-y and managed to trace it back.

@Apex Those lights are from the brand "Depo". They have 2 versions of those, which are supposed to be a bit more OEM facelift looking. 🙂

You guys @BkS @Thracing-44 wanna meet up at C&M (Stratford) on a Daikoku night in May? 1st May. My car should be ready by then
Sorry mate, only just seeing this, I should come on the forums more frequently 😅
I'd be up for meeting though it's a long trek from Scotland for me hahaha. If there's anything going on Sept/Oct time I'd be down, should have new wheels by then. -
Evening lads,
Couple days ago I went to BP to fill the tank, and gave the car (IS250) a nice full tank of fuel. Since then the cabin of the car has been really stinking of petrol fumes. My previous experience (on a BMW) lead me to check under the tank to see if there were any leaks, but there was nothing visible on the ground when the car was off/idle. I have checked around the fuel pressure sensor and don't see any visible leaks and there's no petrol smell coming from the engine bay, or near the filler cap.
I know the tank sits right underneath the rear passenger bench, so is there something I should check there? Blocked vent piping?
I did put the diag tool on the car, no reported DTCs, fuel trims are a bit skew whiff, but I don't know what "normal" valves these should be.
The smell gets stronger when driving the car, so I wonder if maybe one of the feed pipes is leaking? -
Car is looking great fella. P0420 is the cats, usually there's a leak before the second lambda sensor around the flanges like you've said. I get it here and there, nout to worry about, car will still drive fine 😄

Check the legality of converting to LED. This is because the headlight lens is Not designed to work with any other bulb except the ones installed from new.
Your best bet is to look for used headlights of which there are a few online.
I think someone on here has a pair still fir sale.
No legality issues with LEDs on our cars. We have projector housing. I've had LED bulbs on my car for well over 1.5yrs without any problems.
@Joeh212 The best bulbs are made by Boslla, Bevinsee, OSRAM & Philips however if you have factory HIDs KEEP THEM.
Not all aftermarket ballasts are bad, you can get very good aftermarket ballasts from Morimoto or GTR Lighting. -

Yes they are, but they are not in good shape. Ballasts etc. should work, but one side lense has rust inside it, other side has cracked edges.
Ah okay! I'll leave it then 🙂

Hey @Linas.P are headlights & ballasts available? How much if so?

225/45/17 is the best size. Keeps handling neutral, and these cars don't have enough power to cause a loss of rear grip unless you're purposefully giving it some welly in the wet. You don't have to worry about headlight alignment or anything like that.
Overall height difference going from a 245 to a 225 is 18mm in the rear. The benefit of going to a smaller width tyre includes lower rolling resistance which decreases fuel consumption, as well as improving driving dynamics.
You will absolutely need a 20mm spacer otherwise the rear wheels will look lost in the rear arches. -
I don't expect many responses, as it's difficult enough to find an SR kitted IS250/IS220d in a breakers, however, if someone does have the rear lower lip/valance for sale I would like to purchase it.
Can collect, but ideally looking to have it shipped up here to bonny Scotland.

I have an 06, manual. Most of the original system is still in tacked. Mufflers got chopped off a few months ago because unlike many fellow gents here, I enjoy the loud noises coming from the 4GR 😄 I also don't have secondary cats, but not an issue for MOT, still passes with flying colours.
Original systems tend to rust around the joints where one section of system meets another. Before I got the mufflers delete there had been several repairs done to the joints between the middle section & rear sections.
Maintaining longevity can be obtained by using 99 fuel, dipetane fuel system cleaner and allowing the engine to warm up for 10 minutes. 👍

Recently?
New gear knob, new center caps, coilovers, new rear LCAs + bolts, RC-F LCA bushings on the front, 6.3l of Castrol's finest and a genuine filter to boot, as well as a new N/S washer jet.- 1

Lexus Edinburgh has one of these in, and it's not that much smaller than a UX. Still don't like SUVs alas I am a minority 🤣

Oh my, Ahmed! Now that I know RCF/GSF seats fit on the 2IS, I'll be on the hunt because I LOOOVE the design of the newer F seats. Can you share the schematics for the plugs? What changes did you make when you repinned it?

Just had a quick gander through your thread. Car is looking mega mate!
It also appears we are in the same area as well, I visit Lexus Edinburgh every now and again 😅- 1

No you don’t need to specify quantity. Listing is for a pair (Left and Right - each have their own part numbers)
Perf, cheers mate

Not sure if forum rules allow links to the popular auction site. Item number on that popular auction site UK is 384916363410
Did you need to specify two for the quantity? Or was it 2x bushings for £80 all in?

Considering a Lexus IS220d 2007 model with over 100k mileage as a first car. Is this a wise purchase? What are the key factors I should consider and potential issues to look out for with this model?"
I bought a very clean example 2008 IS220d SE back in 2021 with just over 160k on the clocks, it lasted 10k of daily driving over 1 year before it had the fabled head gasket issue. No garages around me wanted to do a HG job, so it was sold and I bought a 06 IS250 SE Manual instead and it's been the best purchase ever since.
Moral of the story, the stories are scary but they are true! I will say though, I miss the low down torque of the diesel but the 4GR makes a wonderful noise that totally makes up for it and I get similar mileage to a tank.- 3

Where did you get the rear lip from? 👀 Been trying to find lips of this style but all that returns on eBay is those Wald replicas

There is a plastic retainer inside the jet which gives it the pressure it needs. If this isn't there you'll need a new jet.
UK spec cars use a "Type A" washer jet, they're about £20 from the dealer.
