  1. I am 81 and recently purchased my LC500, I purchased it for shear enjoyment especially the sound of the V8 when accelerating. The price of the LC has gone up since I purchased it. The car is a classic and will always hold its value, besides those who purchase the LC500 are not concerned with the price of gasoline.
  2. Just added a clear bra.
  3. Just added a full front end clear bra to my LC500, not cheap but worthwhile.
  4. My Lexus servicing dept. also recommended a service every 6 months for my coupe that I hardly drive.
  5. Besides using straight carnuba wax what other products have you used with success? the cherry finish appears highly specalized. For the carbon top there is a video of care: polish, mirror glaze, sealant, wax.
  6. I am using straight carnuba wax per the instructions. Is it safe to first use a clay bar? After waxing has anyone used a Mirror Glaze (IE...Final Inspection 34) followed by a sealant (IE..Sio2) I know these products can be used on the carbon top, what about the paint, was it safe to use?
  7. Weird-When the infrared color chip exposed a grey underneath the touchup paint turned darker, when chip exposed white underneath, very good touchup paint match.
  8. I tried the manual shift for the first time on a residential street. On the open road can you shift all 10 gears? If in manual can you shift to auto or must you make a complete stop? What is a conservative RPM to shift gears? Thanks
  9. I have a 2019 infrared with black interior also, a real eye catcher. For everyday short trips I use my SUV that is well protected on the door panels. My concern with the LC for everyday is parking as the car is pristine and I want to keep it that way at least for now. I am paranoid of someone dinging the door panel.
  10. Still trying to figure it out, see the forum for my comments.
  11. Sorry for the late response, was the base paint coat when first applied much darker than the top coat that corrected the color? My base paint is a very dark red compared to the car color of infrared.
  12. Still trying to figure out best solution as the paint touch up is much darker (blood red) than the car infrared color. I have not applied a clear coat yet because it says clear. I tested the 3T5 on white background and it matches the car color. I am guessing the grey color underneath the chip area is a primer chemical that caused the touch up color to turn much darker. Additional touch up paint remained the same dark color. I can always try a white touch up then the 3T5 if no other solution. I would like to know if anyone else experienced the very very dark color and the clear corrected the color. It does not seem possible.
  13. Not yet, I assume 'clear' would not change the color.
  14. Thanks for the part #. I used 3T5 for my infrared paint and the paint was very very red. Did your first coat go on the same color, very red before applying the lacquer coat? Also, on my 3T5 touch up paint the #'s below read: 00258003T521 (could be just the batch number)
  15. Where did you purchase this kit? I went on the internet and cannot find Lexus two pot touchup paint kit. You are in the UK I am in the USA, appreciate any help (riverfred1@gmail.com)
  16. Not sure what your question is (riverfred1@gmail.com)
  17. I had a small paint chip that underneath revealed a grey color, I assume is primer. When I applied the color match 3T5 the paint was much darker (very dark red.) Several more touch-up coats remained dark red not matching the infrared color at all. Has anyone else experienced this? i have not tried adding white then the color match.
  18. Have not tried this yet, any suggestions when to shift, etc. Any advantage over normal / sport plus or just the feeling of control?
  19. Congrats, I recently purchased a 2019 and found this Utube recommended by another member very helpful: Northside Lexus UTube. I have been at the dealer several times to get answers as the manual was not helpful. My LC500 is infrared, I believe the same as yours. Be careful parking as the front end is low and may not go over a curb. All the best, Fred from Santa Monica, California. Here is the website: https://youtu.be/uq1j7GIDmPM?t=13
  20. I would appreciate step by step instructions on two screen items: 1. How to eliminate a favorite(s) When I hold the favorite down there are no options to delete. 2. How to override the "Go Home" with a new location. When I scroll to Go Home the Go Home location appears with no other options. Thanks
  21. I just purchased my 2019 LC500 in infrared. Is it OK to use an electric buffer and is OK to wax the carbon roof.?
  22. Anyone have a solution from keeping adjacent car doors from dinging your aluminum doors? I purchased small orange cones (6" high) that will be placed on the parking surface by my side door as a warning. I also thought of hanging from the window to the side door a strip of molding with felt backing, I gave up on this idea as it does not seem practical.
