Yours is the same as mine! Barring it being left hand drive and a 450h, rather than 350h! 😄

I have to say, the only electronic help which has 'failed to operate' so far is the rear-collision detection during heavy rain - when obviously the rear sensors have been dirty. It'll put on an orange symbol in the bottom left hand corner of the binnacle that looks like a rectangle with circles inside - if that makes sense. It'll only light when the car is in reverse.

Other than that, so far, so good. It's certainly an improvement over the UX I had, which it's adaptive cruise control often wouldn't work in conditions which I didn't think were too bad. So far, the NX has worked in both heavy rain and last week, heavy fog. No doubt it will fail to work at some point but no issues on that front so far I'm pleased to report.

If mine was not a company car, I would have pick the 350h with ML audio and pano roof...but French car market (and attached taxes) is weird to say the least and the 450h+ has lower taxes (in fact no registration fee, no yearly pollution tax, no CO2 malus....) and had a lower rent and TCO for my company.

Terrane Kaki is a beautiful color that suits well to hazelnut interior...gives the car a British vibe 😉 (Do I love light interior colors now that my car is a kid free zone !)

LSS 3.0 is a fine safety suit. I found it reliable, effective and smooth. I only got one case of disconnection in 6 000 miles with the conditions I described. I had my share of fog and I suppose as long as it is not a freezing one, LSS should work fine (Analog system in my ex Passat worked fine with fog but quitted when the radar got ice on it in wintery conditions.

  2. Terrane Kaki glittering under the autumn sun in Normandy...after a few heavy showers 🙂

I do confirm that the electronic helps (LTA, adaptative cruise control) do shut off themselves under very poor conditions ( very heavy rain at night with a lot of water on the highway). The car does warn you very clearly. I lost LTA first then adaptative cruise control and at one time even the proximity sensors shut themselves off.

  3. Feedback post summer holidays.

Over 2500 km done (and one speeding ticket 😇 a few miles from home). Here are a few trivia facts :

    - Car handled great on twisty and steep road of the Vosges mountain (Mode S was especially handy on the downhill parts)

    - Mpg was very low in HEV mode on these B roads especially in the Rhine valley (5.0L / 100 km with 4 to 5 people on board)

    - Managed to keep the MPG below 6l/100 km on the return trip avoiding highways (Toll that I did not pay will finance the fine 😉 )

    - Tire swap done at 6 000 km (I managed to remember where the antitheft bolt adapter was stashed)

    - Trunk space is good enough to carry a small lawmower without lowering the rear bench and definitely big enough for 4 to 5 adults (managing you do not travel with your groceries)

  4. Well small add-on for Q1 :

S mode is not "play" mode per se as the NX does not even simulate any gear shifting.

S mode is intended to be used when driving down a steep descent, you want to protect your brake system from overheating, it will add engine braking to regenerative braking thus limiting the use of friction breaking. The paddles allow you to set up up the strength of engine breaking (pretty much the way you use manual transmission). It is super efficient (and I am currently using it in the Vosges mountains in France)

Enjoy your NX, 350h and 450h+ are amazing cars with a (sometimes) capricious infotainment system...just enough to remind you that perfection is beyond human grasp (even Japanese automakers 😇)

  5. Funny thing, as the NX collects awards in England and North America for two consecutive years, it is despised by French automotive press and automotive industry "influencers" and rarely included in any comparative panel.
As for the service,  if the car is indeed Japanese made, service will always be with a Gallic flare but with premium icing (ex : you'll always have to help yourself to get a coffee but it will be a free espresso in a real cup instead of an insta coffee in a plastic cup you payed more than 40p.
Will see for the 1st year maintenance or the 5K kilometers tire swap igf they are more focused on details than Volkswagen who managed to return my car (which had light cream colored interior) full of greasy fingerprints and with items missing in the trunk...
