  1. There is nothing better than face to face meeting in the showroom to get up to date news on your car delivery

My business schedule gave me the opportunity being a mere five minutes walk from my Lexus dealership to pay an unannounced visit to my sales rep.

I came back with good news :

#1 The NX is in Europe 🥳 - Nice to have a confirmation as we do not get any tracking info of any sort by Lexus France (they also tell nothing to the dealerships, all the info goes through a spreadsheet which is updapted roughly every week or soà

#2 It will be in the Dealership lot (outside Paris) with its paperwork April 6th (but maybe a couple of days sooner if I'm lucky)

#3 From that point, real delivery and car exchange could take place as soon as April 13th.

This is the "final countdown"... tadada tadadadadada... and will hopefully put an end to a 14 months wait !

  2. CAN bus attack has been "popular" in France in 2022. The RAV4 has the "honor" to grab #1 spot as the vehicle with the highiest theft frequency with 132 cars stolen per 10 000. First generation NX is also on the top five. No data for new gen NX.

They mainly use a device hidden in a portable speaker and connect it to CAN bus (behind the wheel arch or directly in the cockpit (especially for JBL fitted cars). Relay attacks seems to be declining. Rotating codes and other techniques seems to reduce the effectiveness of the technique.

As a future NX owner, I have made arrangements to have

    - a tracker installed

    - a stoplock mechanical device on the steering wheel as a visual deterrent

It's horses for courses and thank goodness that we are all different. My choice of model was the best for my circumstances but that doesn't make it the best choice for everyone. Likewise for the charger; most of the time, I charge from the domestic wall socket and it suits me fine but every now and then I really appreciate my wall box and being able to turn my car around in a couple of hours before going out for the evening. Certainly not an essential bit of kit in my case but in different circumstances or with a different vehicle, it could be.

Yes, if we were planning to change our second car in Normandy for a small EV one (99% local trips), we would consider a wallbox. but as we plan to keep our faithful Panda 4x4 diesel car (which is perfect for our muddy B roads) as long as possible, reinforced plug was the choice of reason 🙂

  4. Matching color glovebox and side panels have made their way on the Lexus France Website...but we are still waiting for the ML audio option for the 450H+.

Lexus France also decided to drop the 350h AWD line due to commercial constraints : with different taxes (CO2, weight taxes, company taxes), the 350h AWD would be pricier than the 450h+.
On the other hand it is said that more than 50% of the sales in France are going to PHEV...

  5. Morning Clara is a hundred nm from Porstbury, depending on tides, it will dock this afternoon or tomorrow !

Waiting time are crazy all over the globe.
In France, 450h waiting time seems to be pretty stable around 14 months.
On the other hand 350h waiting time is way over 18 months and we have people with late (dec 21) orders still waiting for their cars.
Prices and rental rates are fixed at the time of contract signature meaning we are not exposed to any price / interest rate increases.

  6. As long as it allow you to charge the NX in less than a night sleep, that's good for me, plus it is way cheaper than any wallbox (and does not need to upgrade your electrical installation)
Bonus : It ads a nice and reliable high power output for workshop duty if needed

I will consider a wallbox when (and if) I switch to BEV and then will probably see for an 11kw one

  7. Thanks for the feedbacK

I considered also an X3 30e as an alternative for my 450H+ as a company car in France.
It was quickly ruled out based on lack of trunk space, gas mileage and being bigger on the outside than the NX. On top of that I managed to get a very sweet deal with the leasing company...

Seats : will suggest a non f sport model, regular ones are for my point of vue (so to speak) way more confortable and they are way superior than my former (and pricey option) Ergoconfort stuff.

Black hole interior : just go for Hazel or Cream interior...and activate the ambiant lightning 🙂

Traction : as you stated, there is no mechanical AWD system and the electric rear motor has limited power. The car is basically FWD "minded". Electric AWD is however useful in tricky situations

Rear camera cleaner : there is one, just use your rear wiper a couple of times and the dedicated washer will pop up and clean the camera for you.

Non leather is avalaible (NULUX) on certain trim levels

Panoroof is stil a no but il is sayed that you can order the Mark & Levinson upgraded audio system

Happy to hear. I also ordered executive grade in Sweden and I’ve waited 12 months . Have the dealer  confirmed if your car is built with 2022 or 23 specs?

It was build in the second half of February...so very little chance to see any MY24 updates on it (not much of a change except color matching glovebox as Hazel interior already has colored door panels) . It will be a 2023 MY22.

  9. That's my combo...Looks great,
I was going for a the grey and cream  but seeing it in the flesh made me change my mind.
Mine is on the boat and will be here (France hence Left hand drive setup) by the end of the month and registered beginning of April...
I love the light colored roof liner (I'm done with black roof liners), the color of the leather (with should be easier to maintain than cream...Cream is nice but even a small amount of dirt or a color cloth transfer will necessitate a cleaning session) and the deep green with its glittering flakes.

Here are a few pictures from the dealership and the last one is with direct sunlight.
