  1. For anyone who may be interested I had been looking for nearly a year for a solution to adding bluetooth capability to my 2006 RX Lexus (branded as a Toyota Harrier) import to listen to music and take phonecalls through the car speakers without spending a fortune or ripping out and replacing the head unit etc. A simple module is all it takes. I had resorted to installing an Amazon Echo Auto unit, auxing that to a standalone bluetooth portable speaker wedged into the centre armrest, and then bluetoothed the phone to the Echo unit to then play through the speaker - was basic and sounded rubbish but at least I got some music if desperate, but it looked and sounded shocking. After A LOT of research I found the solution, and it works perfectly! For under a £100 I got hold of one of these units, its an easy install, just a Y lead is needed to add to it to make sure the touchscreen and all speakers work properly, pull out the headunit and check the pin formation is correct before ordering, and voila - bluetooth and handsfree like a modern car, love it! To add - my car has no phone buttons on the steering wheel or anything like that, its real old school, with no aux input or anything. I then paired it with a CD slot phone holder and the old girl is bang up to date. Heres the links to the module kit and CD phone mount for anyone who will benefit from this - you can use this for many other makes too, not just Lexus. http://www.wefatech.com/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/Olixar-Slot-Phone-Holder-Universal/dp/B003WUMRVA/ref=sr_1_3?adgrpid=52919620483&hvadid=259078983069&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9045779&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=12787464903186224819&hvtargid=kwd-316441303168&hydadcr=5114_1827866&keywords=olixar+cd+slot+mount+car+holder&qid=1681856314&sr=8-3
  2. tried that and the beams are nice and flat across, which is great. The car is being exported to Spain for our place there and deflectors arent allowed for the import inspection, so the headlights themselves would have needed to be changed if they didnt have horizontal flat beams. But from what I see on my garage my beams are white in colour and flat as a pancake!
  3. Thanks for that info, its somewhat frustrating! I'll send off to them and see what they have to say. What info did you have to include in your email - things like the chassis and engine number?
  4. Hi all, I have my 2006 Toyota Harrier (RX300/350 equivalent) and need to take it into Europe. From what I've read there is a chance the headlights are horizontal flat beam units so may not need adapting. Does anyone have any idea on maybe the OEM number of the lights that are LHD and RHD compatible or how to get them checked to see if they are - can I do it myself? I dont know if my car has these HID headlights that dont need adapting or if it has different lights - any pointers on how I can physcially check if they are HID or Halogen? I did contact both Lexus and Toyota but as its an import they both wrote back with "too hard" box ticked! Thanks all
  5. Hi there, I have a Toyota Harrier 2006 - basically a RX300 just dont have the steering wheel buttons. Centre unit has screen at the top with AC controls, all in Japanese. Bottom is a CD players and mini disk player Will this unit fit my spec and as a total buffoon in tech is it really possible for me to fix this in myself or are there complicated wiring things? Will this just plug in and work for me, incorporating AC controls in this type of new unit? Thanks
  6. thanks guys, very helpful! I will get my socket set out tomorrow, disarm the airbag and set to it. I do love a little project!
  7. Hi all, I'm new to the forum as I've just bought an imported 2006 Toyota Harrier, basically a Lexus RX as I understand, and it is perfect apart from the drivers electric seat. It has only done 50k warranted miles and I'm thinking the seat is struggling as it's barely been used. Basically it's VERY slow and groans it's way back and forwards. I'm only 5'2 and the husband is 6'2 so we need it to move alot! I'm hoping it just needs maybe degreasing, can anyone help me with how I remove the seat and do this? Many thanks all,
