  2. The new NX's ive seen this week all had 2 fog lamps in the bumper & 2 reverse lamps in the clusters. UK spec hybrid & phv, dont get the non hybrid NX in the uk so dont know. uk spec Landcruisers have 2 fogs for sure. I wouldnt worry about something I never see, I can count on 1 hand the amount of times ive ever needed to turn on the rear fog lamps (ie - when theres actually hardly any visibility, not just cause theres a little mist in the air like a lot of people seem to do) in 23 years of driving. No idea if my car has 2 reversing lights or not, just know that it lights up the area behind the car just fine.

  3. my experience with 90s/00s jdm imports is that imports never have alarm/immobilisers fitted as the Japanese dont steal each others cars so buying a system with certificate is required for insurance, the radio & satnav dont work, you need a frequency band expander to get anything but radio 2 & the satnav works on FM in Japan so its useless here. If youre not willing to work with kmph youll have to get a clock conversion to mph. The cars usually dont come with any service history, manuals or anything, if they do its all in Japanese anyway so you have no idea about the life of the car. A rear fog lamp isnt a legal thing in Japan so you might have to have one fitted or a tail light converted.

USA cant import any car less than 25 years old, so a lot of the cars I like are coming of age & the prices are going crazy. Its funny that the EU syphon the cars from Japan 2nd hand or who knows how many owners they had, 5-10 yers old,  then when they are 25 years old when most cars would be quite tired & passed their prime, the USA come in & will pay more than the new price of a car to import it.

You could get a Skyline GT-R 34 for £20,000 15 years ago, now they are worth over £100,000 when they cost £50,000 new, I always liked the NSX type r, I regret not getting one when they were also £20k-30k.

  4. All UK NX are all wheel drive & have 240bhp so they are good at towing,

fitting a genuine oem tow bar on the nx involves removing & cutting part of the rear bumper out, crash bar deletion, removal of the kick sensor if it has one,  strip down of the boot floor & rear quarter panel to run the wiring & ecu fitting. If it wasnt done right it could affect the warranty & you wont know if the independant did it right/properly or not.

  5. Ive not owned a Ferrari, but I watch a Youtube channel called JayEmm on cars & he owns a few second hand ones, it seems like he spends more time trying to keep them running than driving them, but he also seems to enjoy the trials of owning such cars.

Recently he did this video about the long term issues hes had with his F430, seems like even if youre happy to throw money at the car it can still be a headache. Youre also limited to who can service & repair the car, got a local Ferrari specialist?
