  1. My 2001 GS430 has a broken brake booster unit and has been in the local garage for nearly 3 months. BBS Reman rebuild it but it's still broken (See my other thread in the GS/Brakes forrum). Quite frankly I haven't got the 2500 quid Lexus wants but I've had zero luck on eBay or breakers, so I suppose I'll have no choice. Any ideas?? Can anyone confirm the following? : 47210L is the Brake Booster Assy, W/Master Cylinder; which comprises 47201 Cylinder Sub-Assy Brake Master; and 47070B Pump Assy w/Accumulator I think from info on the 'net that part 47025-300230 Cylinder Sub-Assy Brake Master which isn't shown on my exploded view is the actual part I need (the master cylinder) which is 600 quid cheaper as it doesn't have the reservoir or pressure switch -- Can anybody confirm this please? 2. I'm in a similar situation to simon12 as my 2001 GS430's brake booster assy failed with the usual lights, buzzer etc. I was gutted as I read before I bought the car 6 months ago that the series 2 have an uprated unit which fixed the original problems. Wrong. My local Toyota/Lexus independent have tried replacing the pressure switch(es), the pump, the reservoir and finally sent it to BBA-Reman who replaced stuff for under 300 quid, which was great although could only test 95% of it on the bench. Unfortunately the problem remains (they've refunded in full) I've had zero luck on eBay or breakers, so I suppose I'll have to get the complete unit from lexus at a cost of about 2100 +VAT. <gulp> Can anyone confirm the following? : 47210L is the Brake Booster Assy, W/Master Cylinder; which comprises 47201 Cylinder Sub-Assy Brake Master; and 47070B Pump Assy w/Accumulator I think from info on the 'net that part 47025-300230 Cylinder Sub-Assy Brake Master which isn't shown on my exploded view is the actual part I need (the master cylinder) which is 600 quid cheaper as it doesn't have the reservoir or pressure switch -- Can anybody confirm/ 'guv
  3. Aha, no clues eh. Guess I'll just order based on the disc I have in my sweaty paws :) 'Guv
  4. Hi All, I'd like to update my GS430 Navigator DVD to something a bit more recent - the current disk is the original that came with the car (Part No. 08664-50860) around 2001. Lexus-mapupdates.eu do recognise this number and offer PZ485-L00EU-07 as the replacement. I have two questions: At a guess, this is a Gen 00 system. The FAQ on lexus-mapupdates.eu says whether 'Operation While Driving' is enabled or not. The picture depicting the Opening Screen for Gen 00 is NOT the one my system shows. Mine has the Opeing Screen shown is being Gen 01 (definitely - I'm always selecting NL language instead of Accept...) Is PZ485-L00EU-07 the correct update for me? The above update I guess is 2007 data. Is this still current or is there a newer update due sometime soon (in which case I might wait for that one)? Cheers for all clues! 'Guv
  5. Cool. I can now confirm that with an NTSC source, my Navtool converter works exactly as it should do. Happy now :) 'Guv
  6. Hey Colin, I'm glad you posted this so long ago. It enabled me to successfully program a new key for my RX300 Series 1 (2001) - I hope you don't mind me adding the following comments which may save the next person a few more grey hairs ;) Immobiliser Step 7. The Security light flashing is exactly the same rate as when there is no key in the ignition. Remote Step 3. Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: repeat procedure in step (2), except~ for closing and opening driver’s door. Step 3A. Insert key into ignition switch. To enter desired mode, turn ignition switch to ON position and back to LOCK position (one cycle), within one second, the specified number of times. See REGISTRATION MODE SELECTION table. Remove key from ignition switch. Go to next step. The rest as-is... 'Guv
  7. Hey, thanks for the info Colin. Yeah OK, I knew that really but couldn't think how to put it simply. I suppose I was really asking about the timing aspect - i.e. will the display handle a signal even though there's less lines being sent than expected. Ah I see. I ask because I've got a Navtool's converter and with a PAL camera although I get some kind of picture, it's rolling very quickly downwards. The spec sheet for the convrter says it'll handle PAL/NTSC/SECAM inputs and PAL/NTSC outputs. I asked the manu and they just say I need an NTSC camera but won't/can't explain why... If the converter actually syncs with the sync from the navigator then I could kind of understand, as the PAL signal with more lines wouldn't 'fit', but we're talking RGB not composite...? <sigh> I've a feeling this is going to be painful. 8. Hi all, I'd like to know if the display in a 2001 RX Navigator (Not SE) is likely to be PAL or NTSC? Whichever it is, do they also display pictures from a source that's the other standard, bearing in mind it's an RGB display? 'guv.
  9. I'm pretty sure this connector is used in most Lexus models. I guess nobody has ever looked up the connector type and everybody just splices into the loom. Seems a shame, but when in Rome... 'guv.
  10. Hi all, I'm fitting a reversing camera to the wifeys S1 RX300 and to keep things neat and tidy around the nav unit under the cargo area, I was hoping somebody could point me to where I can get the mating connector and terminals for the 18pin accessory connector. This connector appears to have power, ground and reversing light power which is all I need for the video converter. I know I could just splice into the harness, but it's so neat and tidy it seems a shame! 'guv.
  11. Around here they move these signs around quite often. They appear in a new place for a couple of weeks, and on the third week there'll be a copper with handheld thingy catching people who ignore the warnings... 'Guv
  12. Oh oh. I've just done this at lunchtime, _and_ it's my very first post on the forums. Cool. Pop the bonnet, on top of the sidelight assembly is a single crosspoint screw. Remove it. Wiggle the lens assembly and out it comes. There are a couple of horizontal plastic 'rods' that go from the side of the lens assembly into the front of the wing - You'll see tham as the lens starts moving. The bulb holder rotates and pops out. Easy peasy. :winky: -S
