  1. Just handed over my bumper to spray and will book it in after new year to get it fitted.

    £160 - £180. Thats cheap i think?

I hate it when things sounds too cheap.. u know the saying "u get what u pay for".

But they seem to have loads of cars in there all the time, doing body work etc. Been there for years too, ever since i can remember.. so hopefully it will be ok  fingers crossed.

The body shop is Sovereign Cars in Croydon. Anyone had any work done by them?

Still unsure about the washers... he siad, he will see how easy it is and then I will decide.

  2. Just got myself a TTE (sports) bumper. Will now need to get it painted and fitted.

Obviously, I'm not asking Lexus to do it, i'm going to my local body shop, which looks ok, always plenty of cars in there and some nice cars too :)

My questions is, do I ask them to cut the holes in the new tte bumper for the washers, or shall I leave the washers off. I hear its not as simple as just cutting the holes out, some other modifications to the brackets is needed, (whatever, whereever they are). Can I trust them to make sure they do everything necessary, will they know that they need to do this?.... do they have to do these mods, what will happen if they don't? Is it more hassle than its worth?

btw I have a sports model, if it makes any difference.

I have also heard that some tte bumpers are not a perfect fit. :duh:

Looking forward to putting this on (Currently sitting in my bedroom taking up a lot of space), works out well, as some git has damaged my current bumper..

    Sorry for long post.

    TIA

  3. no genuine front bumper was made from Fibreglass, the only factory aftermarket bumper's available are the TTE bumper, identifiable by the fact the grill is included, and from Japan you can get the Neo front bumper, identifiable by a darker centre lower part and round fog lights

    Thanks

The one im buying is the one with the grill attached..

The seller has called it the Sports bumper. I assume this is the TTE bumper?

  4. Does anyone know, if Lexus ever made a fibreglass sports bumper for is200?

I'm just about to buy a sports bumper of this guy and can I safely assume that if its genuine, it is NOT fibreglass.

Also, anyway off telling that it is genuine..

    Thanks

  5. if it was deleted etc then i am quite dissapointed, i know steves position regarding companies that give crap service and are then posted in the now defunked " name and shame" forum - he doesnt want to deal with the solicitors letters which is fair enough.

BUT on the other hand this info should be somewhere so other members can be aware of dodgy companies.

I see, the only reason I asked was that the reply from the company was that they only sell genuine toyota lexus products, and he stated that the front bumper is made of fibre class. I thought the lexus styling kit wasnt made of fibre glass, which was confirmed on this post.

  6. It isn't fibreglass, better quality than that.

there was a post a week or so ago stating issues with that company.

I tried searhing for that company name and couldnt find anything. You wouldnt happen to know which category is it in do you, or better still a link?

    Thanks

  7. Hi, does anyone know if the lexus styling kit i.e. tte front bumper, made of fibre glass?

Another thing is, I find this small co. that can get apprently official toyota/lexus products for quite cheap www.cheaplexusparts.co.uk, they're based in Sutton.

They can supply me with the styling kit for roughly £630, whilst lexus is quoting me about £850.

    Anyone ever used www.cheaplexusparts.co.uk before?

    TIA

    H

  8. I rang up Lexus in Croydon today and asked them for the price for the body kit.

    Rear skirt 248.47

    Side skirts 159.11

    Front Bumper 290.86

    all prices excl VAT.

This is just for the part. Does anyone know if this is the tte kit?

Spray and fitting is extra.... a lot extra if you go to lexus.

  9. Cheers mate they were about the same words I said when I got it all fitted and painted!!

I bought it off Zee007 who sold his bits and pieces!

The one you're after is called "ALTEZZA RS Racing Front Lip" - it's a Blitz clone basically.

cheers mate, that makes sense, cause I was looking at that, and I liked that lip very much :)

Ok, here's another question, I don't want to spend too much, do you think that own its own will look ok, or do i need side skirts?

  10. It is mate, that's the blitz lip on the standard bumper ;)

oh ok, it looks very nice mate, its amazing what a front lip can do the looks of the car... really transforms it.

I had a look on upauto and couldnt see the blitz lip advertised, did you just ring up and ordered it?

  11. croydon !.....cool

dobedo, you from around here too?

I spoke to dave from Prolex today and he mentioned you, and said what a nice car you have :)

aido, your one is not fitted onto the standard bumper is it?

  12. Hi all, Just got myself an IS200 Sport and I'm thinking about adding a body kit.

I'm never bought a body kit and don't know much about brands etc.

Having looked over the forum, I do like the Blitz front lip, like the one fitted on to aido's car. Do I need to change the front bumpber to fit this on, or can the lip just go straight on to the original bumper.

Now the question is, where is the best place to get these? Can anyone recommend any other body kit? Then where is the best place to get these sprayed and fitted?

I do not want to go to a Lexus dealer as they just simply charge way too much!

I live in Croydon (London) so can anyone on this forum recommend anywhere near Croydon?

    Thanks in advance.
