  1. Interesting, I'd been told both, independent dealer said it was, Lexus dealership said it wasn't! Anyways as long as the car is solid then it's all good
  2. Completion of a service with no raised issues gives you an additional year of warranty I believe. So you don't need a full Lexus SH but you need a service to them activate the warranty I believe. I think I'm right in saying it's non transferable so if it was serviced before purchase you need to service it yourself to get the warranty. Or that's what I've been told.
  3. Mmm a red sport with only 6000 miles on for 55k not bad!
  4. Indeed, I've a pet hatred of cars that aren't prepared or with clear issues at this price point. I know why garages don't but it's the wrong image. Cosmetic issues perhaps but not things like handles and seats, not on a car that's been for sale for 6 months plus where the issues could have been dealt with under warranty anyways. I think 47 is still generous for that one!
  5. Well little confession, I did go and see that yellow one a few months back and offered them 47 and they flat out refused to go below 49,500 (which they offered me the moment I called) thing is is had quite a few issues, drivers seat was "loose" ie you could noticeably rock it back and forwards with light pressure. The drivers handle was indeed broken and only half popped out. There was a whistling noise at speed from the drivers side (possibly the handle not retracted or something odd) All of these things were of course repairable under warranty but their general attitude was it was an amazing car and the warm weather would bring out buyers. Anyways with no movement on the price, a huge milage and a list of issues I bid them good luck.
  6. Looks like the yellow one has gone (or given up!) Anyone here?
  7. Indeed, given the glacial price reductions they don't seem to eager to shift it tho. 43 would do nicely, 45 tops. Does the driver door handle look slightly off? It's often half popped out in the photos vs the passenger. How do the door handles hold up? I had a BMW that ended up needing 3 new handles at £500 each (luckily under warranty) so modern fancy door handles always make me look carefully!
  8. 100% if it was 2-3K less price wise it would balance out, essentially the 2017 ones will all be out of their 10 year warranty by the time you choose to sell the car again so future buyers will perhaps be slightly wary. It's also bonkers that it's more than double the mileage of any other car and it's not even the cheapest example we've seen in the past 6 months. If you pop the reg into autotrader as a private sale it reckons you should be asking for 42k, clearly a seller has some mark up but the gulf there seems a bit large. I assume as well 12 months of sitting on forecourts isn't going to be great. Must be due a service after 12 months if nothing else!
  9. I am somewhat tempted, you see on US groups people with 2-3 year old cars with similar mileage. but there's got to be an offset in price, why take a car with double the mileage to save 1-2K?
  10. Look like it got removed and it's back with a healthy mark-up. I wonder if they had a flood of interest and decided to do the honourable thing and pretend they got the price wrong.
  11. Whoever at the dealership eventually shifts that yellow one should get some sort of award, I think it's been on a year now?
  12. Indeed and it's QUITE a bit cheaper as well still being a sport plus. Shall await the real photos 😄
  13. Good news guys, the unsellable Yellow LC is now £100 cheaper...
  14. Looks like that convertible has gone up to 75k, someone put the wrong price in!
  15. You don't have to enter the topic do you? I'll buy one when I find the right one! I've got space for it now anyways after selling one of the other cars!
  16. If they're so good why are these sat here for months on end untouched? One of these cars has been for sale for almost a year at a price your basically saying is scandalous? There was a flurry of activity when several cars came up under 50k and they went fast, everything else has sat around I think it's much more likely there's a mismatch in the market, buyers don't see the value and sellers are overestimating their worth. Rarity and luxury by themselves don't dictate price.
  17. Almost a month later and literally no movement in the bottom end of the market, nothing has come, nothing has gone, crazy stuff!
  18. They're not cheaper because then they'd be far too low Vs other hybrids on the market. The 500 and 500h have totally different markets but because they're the same car they're entwined in terms of price
  19. Every article or review I've ever read said the hybrid is nonsensical, the savings are minimal and your giving away a pretty unique engine. The hybrid Vs the V8 is a non contest. However Vs other hybrids out there your getting something stylish and unique. I don't think anyone who wants an LC is ever going to seriously consider the hybrid but I think if your looking for a hybrid the LC makes a lot of sense. I think the hybrids values are actually propping up the V8 slightly as they can't really invert so the V8 has to be slightly higher even if VS other brands v8s LCs are on the pricy side. There aren't many other brands with a mix of V8 and hybrid in this area it's quite unique
  20. The market has got less fluid this month, lots of lower end cars last month, several under 50. I guess the stick in the mud yellow is just hoping someone is desperate and caves in. Odd strategy but if the market is tight then I guess that's their call, they only have one to sell after all.
  21. Quite a flurry of sales, I see the ever (un)popular yellow one has knocked 240 quid off... Not sure thats going to get it sold looking at the better cars for less money that have been and gone.
  22. Looks like the two cheapest v8s have been sold, both looked good value and good condition, listed for between 2-4 weeks so not exactly snapped up but moved on fairly quickly, few weeks ago the 46k one also went after about 2-4 weeks so that end of the market seems pretty healthy. I'd imagine given how the slow the market was earlier in the year Vs now that there's unlikely to be much more movement pricewise beyond a slow natural decline with time. So yes you can get a V8 for under 50k but it'll need to be from a dealer who wants to move their stock fast. Theres a few clearly overpriced cars which have been listed for awhile and haven't moved. I guess those dealers will hold out and hope. The NI one that's gone up looks interesting, low milage and high spec.
  23. This has to be the least welcoming car community I've ever joined, is this what Lexus ownership is like is it? You could just not read this thread if I'm that much of a pain.
  24. Colours are weird, the reds and yellows (haven't seen a blue for sale I think it's a newer colour so not down at my level) are the best, likewise interiors I really like the tan. On the second hand market the more interesting trims often are more sought after yet first time buyers always play it safe and boring. Aso who buys the LC without the HUD?!! I can take or leave the sound but the HUD feels like a must.
  25. Not the car I'm after sadly. But I do find the LC market very odd, maybe people are tied to a particular local dealer and they get signed up before doing any research. I wonder as well how many are done as PXs with an existing dealership car and basically the sticker price becomes almost irrelevant. There was one I was looking at a few months ago but before I could see it it got sold "to a long term customer who traded in their RC F" The right car will be along at some point, just a waiting game like always!
