  1. I think your right, Still trying to work through the issues with the dealer but it seems I have no choice but to keep it, the loss is far too much to comfortable with it. I know that the UX is a reasonably good car and if we can get all these faults sorted out it will be ok, It has just lost it's shine for me now and feel good factor is long gone.
  2. Of course, it's just the level of depreciation that's the issue, £25k in 4 months seems extremely harsh, does it not.
  3. Got it wrong, you can get a quote without pictures, The figure they suggest is £29,682, so a lot better than the dealer to say the least, I'm not sure it's enough, I think we would be happy getting the 34/5 mark, we will just have to see, that would leave a balance of !5k to change to the LBX.
  4. i have just been on there and as you say, you need photo's to continue, shame you can't get a price subject to pictures.
  5. To be honest I'm not sure which company is in supermarket car park, I was just told about it but will get a price from them anyway. Looking at this situation it seems very short sighted within the motor trade to do this as once bitten you would never buy new again and just go for a nearly new so long term, they will loose out just as much but it seems everyone is just after the quick buck!
  6. Not yet, they have a mobile site at one of the supermarket carparks that is local and was going to pop over and then they can see the car and have a chat with them and see what happens.
  7. Unfortunately we have to take the good with the bad, but sometimes it spoils what should be a positive experience at the expense of the witless, time to move on i think. Anyway, getting back to valuations and mine was for our 4 month old car was £23k, so a loss of 25 grand, It's just ridiculous, on that basis I will wait six months and buy a second hand LBX for virtually nothing!
  8. I absolutely agree but you find idiots on every forum to some extent and just take their mindless comments with the distaste they deserve and move on to those who can be constructive.
  9. Charles, I want to come to your dealer lol but on that, the receptionist (not just) has been at my dealer for the 15 years plus years that we have been going there, the most polite and sociable person you cold find, very knowledgeable and always comes back to you with an answer, ten out of ten for her.
  10. This is our 3rd Lexus and always get them serviced at the dealership, Interesting you reckon a 50% loss in 4 months, so that would equate a £24k loss, so a £6000 pound loss for each month?
  11. Wow, a 45 grand hit, absolutely shocking, that's not bad on your Mazda I must say, our Volvo was a loss of 10 grand over 3 years and was very happy with that.
  12. So a loss of around £888 a month, is that good, bad or average?
  13. HI Charles, I think that's a good assumption but will see what others think, Thanks.
  14. We had an e-mail from our local deal asking if we were interested in a closer look at the new LBX that was due to arrive at the end of January and as we have have so many problems with our car, we were very interested. so I had arranged to go over prior to the arrival of the LBX to get a part exchange valuation on our car which was 4 months old and top of the range (UX F Sport Takumi in Blazing Carnelian Orange) Ho much do you think our UX is worth now? I will let those ponder on this, and very interested to know how much you may think it's worth.
  15. I agree Bill, all the cars we have had over the years have had different load spec for one passenger, full occupancy and loaded and some with high speed driving, so this is new! also I have just written of my experience with my tyre pressures below! My car is now coming up to three moths old and the tyre warning light has always been on even though it has spent around 6 weeks in the dealers, I decided to check it out even though I'm pretty certain that it's an electrical fault, the dash just shows as blank where the tyre pressures should be. I decided to get out there on my knees and physically check the pressures: front o/s/f 46 psi -3,2 bar, n/s/f 38psi - 2.6 bar, rear o/s/f 32psi - 2.2 bar, n/s/r 34 psi - 3.3 bar, they are now 34 psi - 2.3 bar all round, i have re-set the dash and awaiting to see if I get a correct display and the warning light goes out. My thoughts turn to Lexus yet again for not bothering to check the pressures at all. The car drove reasonably straight with a very slight pull to the left but camber could be the cause on that but a very firm ride, which I assume was due to the run flats of which I'm not a big fan of, anyway, I can't wait to check it out tomorrow after a drive out to see if it has re-set and the tyre pressures are displayed and the light is out..
  16. I don't think your missing anything at all, it was one of the first things in noticed, i would much rather have the window or sunroof open unless, as you say it's very hot day, It seems that Lexus has decided for us on this issue.
  17. Hi Roger Thanks for the info, I had a StopLock back in the 80s and as you say, a good visual deterrent and a third of the price of a Disclock, so that may be the way to go for now.
  18. Hi I just wondered if you found a UX to buy, if not mine will be up for sale shortly and could do a great price!
  19. Has anyone fitted a Disclock and if so, how did you get on with it, was it ok!
  20. Thanks, I'm not sure as we can't get a whole song out of it before it drops and had one occasion with it down for over an hour, seems to be on all stations and FM/DAB etc.
  21. Thanks, I personally think it's connected to the burning smell although we have had no smells since getting it back but maybe it's burnt it self out, the Lexus dealer cold not find any evidence of any damage! we are away on another holiday Saturday, when we get back i will give Tim a call and maybe have a trip over there. Since Sunday the only problem is the radio cutting all the other main stuff has not happened,
