  1. There are now two sites shown for Lexus Bournemouth - the aftersales centre shared with Toyota (where I went in February and was underwhelmed) plus the old Lexus Poole site in Poole for sales, although it also seems to have a workshop. Suggest you check which one you contacted, and try the other one. I am a distance from either, so would appreciate feedback / comments from anybody with recent experience of Lexus Bournemouth - either site.
  2. Hi Chris This is very helpful. My first service is due in September, so I'll be making a decision about where to take my car at that time. My problem is that I am midway between Lexus Exeter and Lexus Hedge End, so Poole / Bournemouth would be my preferred location. Fortunately a friend is having a UX serviced in Poole / Bournemouth in July so I can get feedback. Probably Snows Toyota can do a basic service on a UX with no problem. My difficulty has been knowing where to go or who to phone on simple queries, like the 'blue screen on startup' and the more recent 'profile cannot be synced'. It has been great to get guidance on this from the Forum, but really what I have wanted is a knowledgeable salesman to phone.
  3. I am confused - I bought my UX in September from Lexus Poole, who closed down suddenly in November. I was then told that Lexus Bournemouth had started up, run by Snows (the Toyota dealer) on their site in Bournemouth. I had a less than satisfactory trip there in February to try and sort out issues with the blue screen on startup (it hadn't been set up properly originally), and found a 'service only' operation tucked away behind the Toyota dealership. I now see that Lexus Bournemouth seems to have opened a sales outlet on the old Lexus Poole site. Is this correct? If so I may go there to sort out the new 'cannot load profile' problem. Much easier for me to get to than the Snows site particularly with my satnav screen obscured by an error message.
  4. Hi Lisa This is really helpful - many thanks. I have changed my password to having no capitals, logged in in the car, and it seems to have sorted it, although I'll see what happens on a long drive. Really grateful. Why Lexus couldn't tell us all in the first place, could have saved a lot of aggravation.
  5. Hi Very useful thread. A week ago I started getting the same 'Profile cannot be synced' message. Very frustrating. I nearly diverted to Lexus Hedge End, but the message covers the centre of the satnav screen and the satnav froze - so I couldn't find my way there! Aaargh! I have tried deleting and reinstalling the Lexus Link + app, but to no avail. How can I change the password to a simpler one without upper case characters? Someone commented you can do this using the Lexus app on your home computer - where do I find this? Many thanks John M
  6. I see that What Car has made the LBX their car of the year, so I would guess demand will be sky high and availability limited. My local Lexus dealer had not even seen one a couple of weeks ago!
  7. Hi Andy There is an option (on the UX with the updated multimedia) to select the drivers door unlocking immediately, and then the other doors a few seconds later if you are still touching the handle. Is this what is happening?
  8. I reckon I drive at the same speed, but certainly feel more relaxed as I find my UX 'wafts' along in a way that my old Audi Q3 did not. Interestingly I found that the Lexus IS200 I had before the Audi was also very smooth to drive, partly because it was so responsive, whilst the UX is given its smoothness and responsiveness by the hybrid transmission.
  9. Being able to start the climate control remotely using the app is brilliant in cold weather. But, as you said, the wing mirrors don't defrost. You have to wait until you are in the car and can press the button for the heated wing mirrors and rear screen. It is a couple of minutes for them to defrost - but you are sitting in a lovely warm car so not much of a burden! Also, remember that I have a 250h and you have a 300e - so the climate control / defrosting probably work a bit differently. You don't have an engine!
  10. Interesting point about run flats not being repairable if you drive with the tyre deflated. I carry a small air compressor which works off the 12v power outlet - fits neatly under the boot floor. This means I can reinflate a tyre if I get a TPMS warning. This buys me a bit more time if I get a puncture, but obviously I still need to get to a tyre fitter quite soon to check it out.
  11. Interesting there are 75 comments on the car security page. I was surprised to find that my UX (keyless entry) doesn't deadlock unless you touch the handle twice within 5 seconds. I only discovered when I accidentally touched it twice, heard a second 'clunk', and went to look it up in the manual. Not under 'Opening and closing the doors'. Go figure........
  12. Oops - didn't mean to re-post. I meant to respond to Don C - yes, I have the Off button, but this turns off the whole ventilation system or at least the climate control. Being perverse I like to climate control on and aircon off most of the year.
  13. Thanks for all the comments. Further experimentation seems to show there are multiple buttons which will turn the A/C back on, but the only way to turn it off is on the touchscreen - Car - Climate - AirCon. Lexus obviously doesn't want me to turn it off. Ah well, looks like I've just got to live with it on all the time. I think it is called 'progress'.

  15. Two months in with my UX, I am slightly surprised there is no physical button to turn the air conditioning on and off. Most of the time I like the climate control on, to provide heating and ventilation, but the air con off unless it is hot weather or I need a lot of demisting. Partly because the aircon dries out my eyes, and partly because I always believed aircon increased fuel consumption. To turn it on or off I have to use the touchscreen - Car - Climate - AirCon which is three presses on the touchscreen and I find it distracting to do when driving. I have tried using voice control - 'Turn off air conditioning' but this seems to shut down the whole ventilation system. Am I missing something? Harking back to my old IS200, it had the aircon button prominently on the top of the dashboard together with recirculation and heated rear window.
