  1. It's definitely a car that takes time to get used to. I find the downshift a bit sluggish, but overtaking is a breeze by downshifting on the paddles. I have had mine a couple of months, and am still adjusting to it. It does feel very special to drive. I have had a lot of performance cars and the RCF is very different to them all. I purchased a 2015 car on 70k miles, so have to suffer the high road tax. I currently have an issue with the heater, and the dealer warranty has been great, it's a £3k fix and they are doing it without quibble, which is amazing on a 9 year old car. Prices seem very mileage dependent and there are never many for sale, so it's worth hanging on for the spec and price that you want.
  2. Tried the cleaning option, as did the dealer, but no joy hence the replacement.
  3. Being new to Lexus ownership I had high hopes for the 10 year warranty, but was slightly sceptical. Had to take my newly acquired RCF to Lexus Edinburgh, having not noticed on purchasing that only cold air was coming out on the passenger side. Additionally, drivers seatbelt wasn't retracting too well. It was a private purchase, but with full DSH. Superb dealer experience really well looked after and no charge for diagnosis. The entire passenger heater box needs to be replaced, along with the seatbelt. Non warranty cost is £3k ! Covered in full, without hesitation, subject to taking a couple of weeks to get the parts. Shows the value in dealer servicing, especially as these cars age.
  4. Thanks for the info. I've been really surprised by how well it handles in the wet and how planted it feels. I know the car was criticized for its weight, and slightly heavy steering, but personally they are things that I really like about it, must suit my driving style or something.
  5. Do you use yours all year round, and if so do you use an all season or winter tyre? Mine has Pilot Sports on at the moment.
  6. Thanks for helping, especially the mirrors! I'll have a further dig around in the nav screen to try and find the speed display. The car lives in the far, far north just south of Inverness. Managed 33mpg on the motorway cruise home which I thought was pretty good going for a big V8. It's our only car, and is by a long way the most I have ever put in to a vehicle. I've owned pretty much every 'fast' car you can think of, but already the rcf feels infinitely superior to any of them.
  7. Hi all, Have just bought my first Lexus, a 2015 RC f, it's an incredible car and everything I hoped it would be, but there are two things I would like to change if possible. Despite taking the ridiculous step of even reading the manual I can't find the answer, so thought I would ask the assembled forum experts. Firstly, can I stop the side mirrors dipping when I select reverse, just personal preference. Secondly, can I display actual GPS speed on the Sat nav screen, mainly because I have a feeling the dashboard speed over reads. Any help much appreciated
