  1. Agree 4 months is a long time for an 250-SEL

    *Answer*

    Factory release "Build Spec" !

The combination of colour not standard.

    Hopefully worth the wait.

I will be sad to lose my cockroach ( as it's known by the peep's in the office ).

Could be cheap buy. The company that deal with Lexus return lease contract cars have contacted me to see if i want to buy.

Any thoughts on cost - 85k on clock ?

  2. I had to have the front disc brake clips replaced at 25,000 miles. These small steel clips had rusted. They probably cost about 5p to manufacture. The bill was £106. The dealer said it's a common fault that they need replacing so I thought 'why make them out of mild steel that rusts so easily?'.

He also said that on the RX they would expect to replace the front pads at about 20,000 - 25,000 miles. At 28,000 miles the front pads and discs had to be replaced on mine. This cost an astounding £391. The pads were £45, the discs £148 and the rest labour. So after 28,000 miles I'd spent a total of £500 on the front brakes!

I normally brake very gently so I was disappointed at the discs and pads both having to be replaced. I've taken my car to the Alps twice and inevitably had to drive with my foot on the brake for extended periods on the steep Alpine passes (selecting a low gear on the auto box isn't sufficient). I wonder whether this caused much of the wear on the front brakes.

So far (32,000 miles) the rear brakes seem to have plenty of life left in them. I certainly hope so!

  3. well the RX went in for a service having had the recall appointment cancelled.... guess what, they inspected the master cylinder and have impounded it, as it has the problem they were originally looking for in the recall that was cancelled! still no parts available, nor any firm date when they will be - maybe 2 weeks.

so watch out if you re due a service, you may be stuck with a loan car for a while.

Mine is in next week @ Bolton - The longer they keep it the better, I am over my lease mileage so the longer they want it the better. Don't mind a new RX 350 for christmas (he he ! ) and it will come back *spotless* possibly with goodies as always - EXELLENT SERVICE

Subject: Query - Petrol Pump Cost

    Customer Service Dept - Tesco

    Please find attached

Can you please explain the attached? (RECEIPT)

I purchased a full tank of petrol yesterday from the Blackpool Store and

    checked the cost

    As you can see

    Pump Price @ 96.9 Pence P/Litre

    Quantity @ 60.72 Litre

    Cost @ £ 58.85 inc vat

    ==============

    Do the calc

    60.72 x 96.9 = 5883.76 pence

Therefore I assume the calculation on your computor is not correct

Please explain the reason for overcharging-?

Per year that's a lot of money over the pumps with the quantity of through

    put Tesco Have.

  6. Anyone know if it is possible to clone a code off the transmit signal when locking the car !

I parked in a multistorey and definatley locked the car - my passenger confirmed

I got back to the car my passenger tried the door it was locked !

I unlocked it - was driving out of town and got a mobile call that my wallet was found in the shopping centre toilets.

    Checked centre consul empty !

This was a spare wallet that i keep my business cards in.

my passenger watched me put the wallet in the consul because i had just taken some cards out ready for the appointment we had.

    Baffled & Concerned.

  7. Whilst reading posts today @ 19:30 my mobile rang

    "Lexus Bolton Customer services Here"

"Our Data base says you should be ready for service"

"Would like to book your car in and we will arrange courtesy car transfer*

I see so many bad vibes on this site but its great to see my supplier on the ball.

Maybe being on lease contract there is a tracker fitted i don't know about.

But a least they look after me !

    *Well Done Bolton*

  8. Morning,

when I was at the dealership yesterday I was talking with an IS owner who said he is on his 3rd set of tryres in 17,000 miles :o

He said that tyres last only 10k, on the RX I ordered there are a set of Bridgestones. Any idea how many miles I should expect out of the RX set.

    TIA

    Steve

My previous GS300se only did 13/15000mls - max went through £3500.00 in tyres in 15 months.

I was concerned about Tyre Life having experienced that, so went on full maintenance lease with the RX

Now done 35000mls in 12 months and still like new !
