Just as an update, Admiral are now insuring the Original edition. I have sadly already taken out an insurance policy with Tesco Bank Box to collect the car (it is lovely but I didn't take any pictures yet!), but I will be cancelling that to switch to the Admiral policy as soon as possible - £600 cheaper with no black box.

Nope! I think I'm going to have to call up one of the black box companies tomorrow and see if I can take out one of their quotes starting Tuesday (the day I'm due to pick it up). Really not excited about that one - I'm going to keep an eye out for other insurance quotes over the next few days/weeks to see if I can switch in the cooling off period.

I tried - I was told that none of your insurers could provide a quote for the original edition either.

That's interesting! Admiral called me back today (after telling me they'd take the issue up with their pricing team) and told me that it's just because their system hasn't updated yet... Good to know. I haven't managed to get a quote yet from anyone other than insurethebox and tesco (a reseller of the insurethebox insurance) - even Lexus won't quote me (after phoning them up, I was told their system wasn't spitting out a number likely because I was out of their risk tolerance). It's looking like I'm going to have to go with one of the black box companies, at least for now!
