  1. I previously owned a Honda Jazz hybrid and on the relevant forum there was a long thread on 12V batteries. Owners who left them three weeks or more could find problems when they returned to their cars. What I don’t believe has been mentioned so far is that the 12V battery on a hybrid is smaller both physically and in electrical capacity than a typical petrol car as the lithium traction battery does most of the work. So, any hybrid needs ideally to be used every couple of weeks to avoid a flat 12V battery. Even when not in use there is a slight drain on the battery from the alarm and other systems. The LBX is a very nice car, you were unfortunate with the dead 12V battery but once replaced the car should be fine so it would be a shame to reject it.
  2. My car came with a printed user guide (very abbreviated handbook) which was in the glovebox. Covers the basics. The main very detailed Manual does appear to be online only. I have downloaded a copy to “Books” and then it is reasonably easy to access and read on my iPad. Most manufacturers are using online facilities for Manuals and Service History, so Lexus is really no different.
  3. Got acceptable quotes from Admiral and NFU. Went with the latter.
  4. I have previously owned a Golf 7.5. The rear seat space in the LBX and access as you mention is tight, not as spacious as a Golf. However I did not have a good experience with VW service plus I wanted a full hybrid so for me VW were not an option. Less than a month of ownership to date so early days but so far very pleased with the purchase. With regard to insurance I got acceptable quotes from both Admiral and NFU; I expect other insurers will add the LBX to their databases in due course.
  5. Hello everyone. Became an LBX driver at the end of March. Fortunate enough to have a Dealer prepared to sell a showroom car which exactly met spec and colour we were looking for and therefore avoided the 3 month wait of a factory order. Early days yet and haven’t driven many miles but so far delighted with the car.
