  1. Used Lexus IS prices have taken a big drop recently,I have had my IS300 NAV on Ebay and advertised locally for the past week or so but not much interest at all, even at a price much lower than I paid for it in June this year, seems I am going to have to reuce it further and take a big loss.

People know there is a new model due out and are using this as a bargaining tool to try and get the original IS at a much lower price.

Was yours the blue one with Styling Kit on a few weeks back?

  2. Having had the pleasure of you setting the geometry on my IS, I can honestly say it was worth the journey down from the Midlands. I will probably arrange to see you again this side of the new year. However I will certainly support your new venture with my custom. The country seems very short of people who really know their trade.

    Good Luck!

  3.

Are you all feeling ok ............... Matt ............ initially I thought it was you that said something, at the meet ............. after the previous topic (signature related)

Then realised .... that it was Mike taking the ***** ..... so I edited it.

    No one is accusing you.

    That is nice to know...

I didn't say anything about you at the meet, or even mention your name, there was plenty of other things to talk about! We had our discussion about your signature in the thread and that was it, end of, or at least I thought?

I don't care who was wrong or right, I believed there was a conflict of commercial interest with you designing the website that you were/are linking to in your signature, but I was happy to let it rest after I had voiced my opinion and concern.

I'm not one for long drawn out feuds and I certainly won't bad mouth people behind their back.

On the whole the LOC is a friendly place and with the exception of a few tales of woe in the Gold forum, it seems to work, so please just don't jump to conclusions...

I think this thread now needs something more :offtopic:

  4. Even I'm confused and I'm supposed to know what you're on about :o

Changed my sig before the meet - what did Mike do?

Just been reading my email replies and what did Matt Cook have to do with it

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out, that MattCook said something about me on the Midlands meet.

I'm still confused and now I'm sober

    My ears are burning here...

Aido> Where did the quote come from, looks like most of post #413 but either that post has been edited or your quote has.

Anyone care to explain the apparent libellous accusations?

  5. If you feel that I have not been posting 'On Topic', please send me the relevant T&C I have breached, if you like via PM? I certainly do not feel the need to 'revise' them.

My posts have been concerning the use of signatures in posts on this forum and the final sentence in the last post was certainly adding value to the topic. "...hopefully it is now clear to others seeking advice on what can be placed in the signature..." (#10)

Posts like #11 can only discourage people to post, something that we shouldn't be doing!

  6. I think you'll find it was the ambiguity of the statement, in your signature it does not state it is a 'personal recommendation'. I think standing back and looking at it, many could mis-interpret it as advertising, as I did.

At least that has cleared up that issue and hopefully it is now clear to others seeking advice on what can be placed in the signature...

  7. Lexus quoted me £650 for 60,000 service. Ended up getting it done at a reputable independent garage with all genuine Lexus parts, and for exactly the same service it cost me £244. I also wondered how Lexus can charge £150 for 6 spark plugs because when my invoice came back I was only charged £53. I know that when you come to sell the car it may be worth a few hundred quid less but why not save yourself that few hundred quid in servicing during the time you own the car!?

Why does it cost £650 for the 60,000 mile service ? The reason I ask is that mine is due at the end on next month, and I'm interested in how Lexus can charge so much ? What do they actually HAVE to replace on this service to make it justift paying £650 ?

Maybe I'm just tight-fisted ? :P Any replies would be appreciated

You need to call round and ask for GOLD discounts, I ended up paying less than £400 with Gold, you just need to do the leg work. Some details in pricing are in this thread: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=21424&hl=
