    Update......

Got Car Back from Lexus Birmingham yesterday after 8 days and 2 Courtesy cars. No Rattles from dash so far:yahoo: been on bumpy road to test this morning and nothing. But when parking this morning noticed that there was no 'bleep' from the parking assist.checked all the settings, volume at 5,  mute off when active so will have to pop back for them to look at it.I suspect that a plug has not been put in or has come loose but before I go back to Lexus with it has anyone got any other thoughts on anything I may have missed? don't want to turn up and look like a right  plum if its something I've missed.

    Thanks In advance

Popped into Lexus today for one of the techs to look at the parking sensor and why it was constantly muted.after 10 Minutes he came back and said he just unplugged the connection and reconnected it and it started working!:winkiss: The old IT solution 'switch it off the on again, sort of. but happy days:xmas:

Hi...How does this work ? I bought a 65 plate IS200t a few months ago..does it update the sat nav ? If so how long do these updates last

    cheers

you normally get it done on services at Lexus(although there is a link on the forum for you to do this yourself which I did  its really easy) it is just the operating system update fixing bugs and improvements. It is not a sat nav update this is available on the Lexus portal but lexus charge £££ for this.

You get strange smells with most cars AC. Every so often I buy one of those supermarket bacterial sprays, put the system on low, crank the blower up, recirculating on and spray the stuff into the windscreen vents until my trigger finger hurts

Every couple of months I sprayed frebreze into the vent just under the windscreen wipers believe this is the air intake for ventilation system seems, run blower on full and spray  as much or as little into the vent and allow to circulate for 10 minutes seems to get rid of any smells.

  5. Seems a bit steep to me I signed up to a  service plan with Lexus Birmingham when I purchased mine for £1086 that was for 3 services and 2 MOT's but they gave me a further discount for my custom of £194 so my plan has cost me £892. I went with it because of the £10 Vehicle Tax per year so the £25 I was Paying for my old Lexus is paying for my servicing and mot's for the next 3 years but I'd see if the other Dealers in your area give you a better deal.

    Hi Phil

before you leave your car at night set the temp to LO and see if it does the noise in the morning

if it doesn't do it initially raise the temp as see if it happens then.

if my temp is set above LO the noise happens straight away if its set on LO its quiet until i raise the temp setting.

i am going to do a video of me starting the car with the temp on LO then raising the temp for the noise to happen

i'll pass this onto lexus so they can see the issue and when it happens.

after passing the sound file to my dealer yesterday they have emailed me today saying its a strange noise

they havent heard before and will investigate when my car is in for its 1st mot on the19th of August.

I've found that it is worse when it's a very warm day and you move temperature to highest setting the creaking is even louder than doing small increments

  7. Hi all,

Can't believe the difference in mpg in the warm weather! normal commute to work. B road to the m42 then m6 then a46 (35 miles) 48mpg  normal driving for me  between 65 and 70mph.

filled up tank yesterday reset computer and today same route ,speed ,etc 58mpg!!!!

sometimes I get that and then it drops down to about 48/50mpg but today stayed up there.

  8. Hi All,

It's been a while since I've been on here.

I've just replaced my 9 year old is250SE with a is300h F Sport (14 months old) love the car and very happy with it. I got it from my local Lexus Dealership (Birmingham). I have just had a good look in the boot when transfering my personal bits and pieces and found the usual stuff Compressor,Tyre repair Gel,Jack and towing ring. but noticed that there are some securing points and some empty compartments.I'm just wondering if there was a tool kit and a warning triangle in there that has been removed.and if there should be anything else in there that should be?

I'm due to go back to the dealership on Monday morning (15th) to sort out a small defect on the rear bumper so would like to ask them where (if they are missing) these items are?

could anyone tell me what should be found in the boot as standard it would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks in advance

    Phil

  9. Hi,

ive just adjusted my handbrake/park brake on my is250 auto as this was flagged at my service and i decided to do it myself.have adjusted it and it holds fine on hill but just wondering if it requires more adjustment as when i put it into drive/reverse the car does move at a certain point .I can feel the handbrake is holding the car back but does it require further adjustment so that it holds the car even when I accelarate or should it hold the car completely. MOT due in a few weeks so would like to make sure its ok

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  10. I have just bought a IS250, on driving home I thought I would put the stereo on, switched it on, it all lights up but there's no sound, the numbers go up and down but no sound still. It's the one without the sat-nav. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any fuses I can check please.

Has any one else had this problem as on the way home tonight my stereo went silent :tsktsk: power still on, reads discs ok, radio stations there but no sound?

checked to see if a fuse has gone but think its possibly the amp. :crybaby:

phone call to lexus bham in the morning but just seeing if anyone else has had this happen :whistling:

  11. Hi just trying to find out if anyone has had the same issue with their driver side windscreen wiper?

where it connects to the wiper motor it has been rubbing on the facia between the bonnet and the windscreen causing score marks to the wiper arm :crybaby: .I had this before about 2 years ago and had a new wiper arm and facia fitted.1st noticed it again when getting smears on the windscreen when wipers on,thought it was just damaged wiper blades, took it into Lexus B'ham and their rectifying it.Believe it is excessive play on the motor arm causing it to move and rub on facia, just want to see if anyone has had the same fault, if not just to get people to have a look at its not that obvious a fault. :winky:

    Regards Phil

  12. Wow - that all sounds so familiar... IS250SE 41000 Miles full service history then at 40K service new front Discs and Pads - I said I'd never heard of it before and that usually I'd expect 2-3 changes of pads before discs wore out - He said 40K was good - some are changed at 20K!!! and that I must be a light breaker... I have kept discs and pads for evidence if needed and am about to contact Lexus customer relations to see what they say. - I'll let you know..

My Lexus had 30k service yesterday, had new front and rear discs and pads changed(due to lipping and on front and corrosion on rear) ,2 front wheels (due to corrosion) and a new wing mirror (due to a funny stain on mirror)

    ALL UNDER WARRANTY!!!! :hehe:

I don't know why some dealerships do these jobs under warranty and some are reluctant to?

    Where is the consistency !
