The missus has rang me to say she accidentily started putting petrol in her 05 plate 206 hdi. She put £4 petrol in, realised and then put £25 diesel in! Is this a problem....will diluting help or does it need draining! Would the AA cover this? Thanks in advance. Sorry if inappropriate forum! Didnt know where to post!

My griile arrived at lexus today and is being collected by a courier tommorow! Only cost £12 to ship it from London to Nottingham. Jobs a good un! Should improve the front end on the SE. So im interested in a front lip next....All these subtle mods do improve the look of the motor! Is the clearance related to the new IS coming out?

Will have to try nottingham lexus next time. Will save on courier costs. Still a bargain though! :)

yes the b2s very friendly to use.....am i right in saying the road angel 2 isnt speed senstitive? So if you sit stationery near a speed camera it will keep beeping at you! I had a quality issue with the PC cable on the b2 that was replaced FOC. No other issues. My subscription ran out a few weeks ago! need to get it sorted!

Thanks for the advice fellas! Got my grille ordered in plat ice at £35.....thats fantastic! It will be ready tomorrow. They do apparently have other accessories reduced but not nothing relating to bodykit/skirts etc which i was also interested in. Should be an improvement.....must stop spending on this car! I went in on Saturday to buy some clips for my front bumper and the guy noticed my aftermarket rear clusters, like Mr Morse's and told me that they are having a clearout of their accessories for the IS200. I don't know what else they will be clearing out but he showed me the sport grille and confirmed what colours will be available. Don't know how many they have though. Sale starts on Tuesday 1st November. I guess other dealers might also start clearing out their accessories for this model so check around. ←

Ok...theyve come back to say shipping is $135.....so thats approx $131 item $135 shipping + ----------------- £150 total ----------------- £12 Duty £28 VAT + ----------------- £190 Bloody hell....these tax men dont miss a trick do they! Overall it just about falls within my budget of £200.......wanted some uprated discs that looked more aesthetically pleasing...... May still take the plunge if theres no more pitfalls! OK. Shipping will be $198.00 via USPS Air. That at present is roughly £65 discs + £100 postage + duty + vat! Are you saying there will be 8% duty + 17.5 vat? I asssume the duty is only added to the £65......

How does the tax work? Whats the rate? Is it based on the value of the item? If so that shouldnt be too much if only around £65 for the item. Rich Its not so much vat, but its the TAX that kill you when you get them this side off the water ;) ←

Out of curiosity whats the SC do to the old insurance?

I thought that but i like the brembos from ASP but they are £200+vat/delivery. With the discs at approx £65 theres a fair bit of room for postage etc. Does VAT always get lumped on on the way in? Ive emailed asking for a postage price! Any guesses?

The IS200 has the same discs, calipers etc as the IS300. Am i right in saying there are others in the Lexus range that have the same setup? Regards Richard

Thanks. Its worth it. I may even drive down and have a day off in the week. If they other accessories cheap id be interested. ie Lip spoiler, bumper spats etc. The fact they are painted is even better. Cheers Rich It is in London. The address is The Hyde, Edgware Road and their telephone number is 020 8203 4234. They have them in Black, Silver and White only so you are in luck no need to repaint. I am sure you should be able to deal with purchasing one over the telephone. I cannot see any reasons as to why they cannot send it by courier at an additional cost to you. Afterall it is reduced from £230+ to only £35 and is a killer deal if you ask me considering what others are paying for used ones on ebay etc....... I might even get one although they do not have my colour and I am already the owner of a standard and LE grille. Good luck!! :D ←

Origin B2...snapped a new one up from ebay for £250. Think they are standard fit on some new vauxhalls.

Could someone help clarify the options with the front grille on the IS200. I have a 1999 SE with an unappealing front grille. Does a 1999 IS200 (SE) have a heated front screen? I was aware of the mirrors but didnt think the front scren was heated.

I thought insurance companies would withhold your no claims bonus until the dispute was resolved. Ie load your premium assuming you was at fault and then reinburse the difference should the dispute be resolved in your favour. Not positive though.

I am due a minor service and was going to get the gearbox oil changed. Was hoping this would quiet down the box and reduce the clonking changes. I understand it holds 2 US Quarts (whatever that equates to :) ) If someone could recommend a brand. Are there specific viscosity levels that may benefit the gearbox in relation to the problem mentioned above. What do Lexus recomend? Cheers in advance! Rich

Thks for the quick replies. Im 30 and insured with Direct Line. It was a silly accident! crunched into someone in 1st at a junction. They decided to stop and i thought they had gone......im to blame but the hesitation of this bloke in front didnt help! No photos as yet and am still driving it. The bonnet slighly raised, the headlamp is pushed back a little....wings are fine! Got a £300 excess so thought may as well get something positive from it. This was up nr Junction 28 of the M1 today!! So, the TTE bumper which i think i meant is a bit pricey? DirectLine have appointed a bodyshop to me! Would you pick your own or go with what they say? Back to the PC in a hour or so!! Will read the responses then! Thanks for the help!!

Ok...awful start to monday. I manage to crunch into someone. This will be an insurance job. I think that it will need a new bumper and bonnet at a glance. Is there much in it price wise betwen the standard IS front bumper (fitted) and the sports styling pack bumper? Figured it would be a good time to swap as painting is academic. Anyone had experience with insurance companies when trying to do this. Id imagine they would put up some resistance. Cheers
