Is the engine management light on? If so, get it plugged into a diagnostic reader. That's where I would start.

Order some from Lexus- they don't cost much.

Plenty on sale on eBay mate for £100-£120.

And yep, there are 2 core thicknesses- OEM is 27mm and patterned part is 16mm. I have had a 16mm core radiator fitted to my IS200 since 2007 (it has done nearly 50k since being fitted) without any problems.

Discs/pads (front and rear) are the same for the IS200 and GS300 (MK2).

Pretty certain the part you need comes pre-painted. Have you tried your local Lexus parts dept?

Are you mad???- who in their right mind is going to insure a SC430 on a 3rd party insurance policy? I still buy fully comp insurance on my 10 year old IS200- its probably worth about £1800-£2200!

Problem with the IS200 is the current market conditions.

With the current recession, job losses etc there isn't the demand for a 2.0 litre straight six petrol gas guzzlar such as the IS200. People are being forced into little Korean cars (these are great cars btw and I have nothing against them) so that they can keep their motoring costs to a minium.

Bearing the above in mind, this is why the IS200 (or any other big petrol engined car) will fetch a low resale value in the current economic conditions- shame really, as the IS200 is a nice car (as long as you can afford the running costs).

As LexusLloyd says- the IS200 doesn't have folding rear seats.

£12k for sat nav technology that's 10 years old? They're havin' a laugh! Get a TomTom (other portable GPS systems also avaliable)- job done.

K&N air filter off ebay- job done.

I've just failed the MOT due to a leak on the OSF shock and been quoted £240 for ONE to be fitted by our local Fiat/Lotus/Volvo dealer! Just waiting for my usual garage to call back with a quote.

£240??? You're going to get shafted mate at that price (and they ain't taking you out for dinner 1st...). Way too much, as mentioned, get the replacement shocks from BuyPartsBy (online seller) and get a local garage to fit the shocks YOU supply.

Next day delivery with fitting instructions- bought mine from the same seller. The IS200 uses HB4/9006 bulbs. As menitoned, go for the 6000k temp bulbs.

i have used a tape adapter to play songs from my ipod and blackberry for a few years and hasnt let me down yet.

Plugs into the back of the OEM headunit- there's a spare port on the back of the OEM headunit to add a 2nd multichanger etc.

Tapes, tape decks???- if you have a OEM Lexus headunit in a IS200 then get a grom adapter. Job done.

Mate, if funds allow I'd go for the IS300 (all IS300's are autos). Only go for the IS200 if you want a manual (IS200's come as manuals as well as autos).

Honestly, by not fitting a HID kit you are missing out, you won't have any problems come MOT time if you stick to 6000k temp hid bulbs.

If you go for 8000k bulbs or higher you may run into problems at MOT time and you may get your collar felt by the rozzers. You can get a HID kit of eBay for about £50 and fitting is easy.

I could be totally wrong here, so don't shoot me down in flames, but the IS220d is probably the first and last diesel that Lexus will do. They seem to be concerntrating on Hybrid engines/technology.
