  1. It depends what you want.

As I understand it the Brink and Witter models are fixed towbars where as the Lexus version is detachable. :)

I prefer the idea of being able to remove the bar when it isn't being used...............which would be most of the time for me.

  2. I had the same situation recently. Warped disks and wanted to upgrade.

Decided on DBA Silverfish disks and even ended up talking directly to the sole UK Importer (a man called Tony Mason) as advertised on the DBA disks site.

Apparently he used to be an employee of the UK importers and has now bought the rights to set up on his own but is taking some time getting the paperwork sorted. :duh:

Anyway he did tell me over the phone that they have stopped manufacturing the front Gold DBA disks and they wouldn't be available any more!

Ended up getting Black Diamond disks whichc have only been on a week but seem okay so far (not worn in yet)! Put off a little by the Max Power logos all over the box!

  3. Chris!

    Mate!

    I can't beleive it.

    I am gutted.

You have been a fantastic advert for your both your dealership and Lexus aftercare.

You have also been such a huge help to me over the years that I am very sorry to see you have parted company with your employer. :crybaby:

I wish you the very best for the future buddy.! B)

  4. TDI have got them listed at £3000 +Vat making the purchase price £3525.

TDI will also charge up to £900 + Vat for the two days installation making the price £1057.50

Add the two together and it makes £4582.50. B)

    (Have calculator will travel!) :zee:

    Get saving.

  5. Years ago I had the same thing on a company car I was given. It used to corner one way better than it did the other.

When I took it in for a service the main dealer refused to let me have it back again informing me that it was dangerous to drive.

Turns out that the previous driver had hit something in the road at such speed with one wheel that one side of the car was an inch shorter than the other!

It cost the company a fortune to have the chassis straightened again.

Anyway thought I would share that little story but it is obviously not likely to be the problem in your case. :)

  6. AAAHHHH! I drive past Janspeed every morning on my way into work and have seen this car pulling in. :)

I presume it belongs to a Janspeed employee.

I thought it was turbo'ed though as Janspeed used to specialise in turbo conversions. B)

Also someone told me the other day that Janspeed have an IS200 race team but I haven't actually seen any details of that.

Anyway I can confirm it is a very clean car and has a large "Janspeed" sticker all across the rear bumper.

  7. Need your advice ..................................again!

I need to change my front disks and want to know the best ones to get for the right money.

I want to use Green stuff pads with them as I have just had a normal set of pads put back in and the damn wheels get covered in dust by the end of the day!

Normal disks are quite pricey anyway so I thought now would be the time to upgrade. B)

So my first thoughts were to go for a full set of DBA Silverfish Gold disks all round however I am told by the official UK importer that DBA no longer supply the front disks and nobody has any stock left.

I have heard the Black Diamond disks are noisey under braking and don't really want any more noise. :duh:

I have heard bad things about the EBC disks. :yack:

So I have been advised to get the TRD disks however they seem to be quite expensive

So what do I do.

Am I wrong on any of those points

Should I be looking at a totally different disk.

    Help!

  8. Exactly the same down my way mate.

I fell in love with the IS and eventually managed to get enough readies to buy one.

Just before making the purchase I spotted another one started to appear parked round the corner.

By the time I got my beauty home there were 4 or 5 in the area.

They are now breeding like rabbits.

The local car dealer always seems to have different IS200's for sale everytime I go past :crybaby:

Everybody as realised what a great car they are.

Victims of our own good choice! :crying:

  9. Hello Mark,

You did warn me a while back when I discussed getting a supercharger that you liked to check the fuelling.

My rolling road engineer reckons there is more horsepower to be had with the Unichip Supercharger combination if the lambda sensors didn't stop the ECU under fuelling.

He recommended Lambda sensor and water injection.

    What do you think????

  10. My local car dealer (Not Lexus!) currently has a Black X reg IS200SE on the forecourt marked up for £10995. B)

Now he seems to like the IS200's and has moved a few.....much to my annoyance as there are now loads in my area. :crybaby:

He is normally happy to do a deal! ;)
