Sat Nav not talking any more ?? OK, Its all configured to talk, sound set to max etc etc and voice button pressed a zillion times to test, yet totally silent !!! Its an LS430 2000 year. Interestingly the drivers door stereo speaker is not working either, Can anyone with good Lexus knowledge or an LS430 owner tell me if the SatNav voice ONLY comes out of the drivers door speaker? )if so then I have the problem fixed - so to speak ---- or I have 2 darn problems) Thanks Guys

When you say 2000, do you mean the year 2000?

Oh I see, I thought that 9gig was a double sided disc...

All of Europe?. Must be in a very basic form surely, the BMW DVD has 3.2gig of data just for the UK and as a DVD can only hold 4.3 gig, that must just leave major motorways for the rest of Europe and a few city ringroutes? Anyone tried it in Europe - How detailed is it?

Strewth !!! Thats criminal. Looking at the fact that your an Admin I guess thats the best price then. But when I upgraded my 540i disc last December (traded it for the Lexus a month ago) it was only £190.00 straight from the manufacturers in Germany, and that had every opton I thouht SatNav could ever have, certainly the Lexus system has no more anyway. And I thought Beemer were expensive !!!! Guess What I might do is get the version number of mine and see if theres a used one thats "newer" as mines a 2000 car likely the disc is still original.

Darn, I was wondering if it was like the BMW system where the satnav has doubled as a TV for around 5 years now all as standard with their comms package..

HI, Posted here a few months back for some assist when trying to decide which model to get, but must have picked a "slack" time as no replies !! Anyway, finally made my decision and bought a 2000 on an X plate LS430 yesterday, picking it up next weekend (getting the wheels refurbed and a couple of bits of paintwork retouched first you see). I,m so chuffed I finally did it that I cant ruddy well wait really, but there you go.. My query is, does this leviathon have an inbuilt phone kit of any kind?, the sort that would utilise the satnav screen and one or more of the 10 billion buttons on the dash and wheel? I know its gona take me a month to learn what everything does, but the phone thing is pretty critical to me, so should I just get a kit fitted or is there something "Lexusesque" that integrates? Also (excuse this bit Im new to Lexus, so go gently)....Does the SatNav double as a TV? Thankyou in anticipation NB Hope to participate in the forums more now Ive actually got one !! Ok, I didnt title my last post too good, probably why I got no replies, so I'll try again. Looking at a 50k mile 1998 (on an 'S') LS400. Full Lexus history. And although I havent driven it yet it looks perfect from the outside, With a cheap plate it could pass for a 2 year old car visually. Its a Mk4, very few stone chips and looks like new tyres. 2 owners last one 4 years. Its an established trader (hes also got a 97 GS) the only fault he has mentioned is the aerial is bust thats to be fixed anyway this week. Gonna drive it friday and decide then, couldnt before as he was demo'ing the GS when I got there over the weekend and I couldnt wait around. At this age/mileage what common things do I have to look for? Is the next service an expensive one?. I'll be keeping it around 18 months (never kept anything longer!!) Any help or tips appreciated really. Decided after 3 months of "wanting" to go for it. Got my insurance quote from Tesco and even with my points (and her in doors points) its not to bad £630.00

HI, Im taking the plunge and am going to see an S plate 1998 tomorrow (sunday).. OK edited my original post already as read a post and found links to MK3 and MK 4 pics so got that now. The on eIM looking at has 50k miles and FSH (lexus) . What common problems need I look for on this model/mileage? Many thanks if you can help
