  1. I have noticed the lurching/hesitancy problem with my car, and brought it to the attention of my dealer when I took it in for it's first service. They said that the ECU fix was still ongoing and was expected to be available shorthy - March/April. In the interim they "reset" the ECU in the car. Driving the car today was like when I first got it last April - no lurching and smooth and timely shifting through the gears. This may be a short term fix - but I will see how the car continues to respond over time. On the wheels front - all four of my alloys show signs of the finish "bubbling" up - my dealer acknowledged that it is a known issue on the RX and they will replace all of them under warranty.
  2. Took delivery of these yesterday, will post some pics later. I've liased with a couple of suppliers in Japan and S'pore to supply these and opted for www.partsdivision.com in S'pore. They were prepared to do a lot of investigations and checks into confirming that the parts would work/fit the UK spec car. If anyone wants to approach them for these or anything else, I can give you the contact details. The total cost for these including shipping and insurance was $765 SD, ~£250+money transfer fees. The cost of the acutal parts is $620 SD. I think the Japanese supplier www.japanparts.com can supply them cheaper, but I was not that satisfied with the amount of information they were prepared to provide. The manual is in Japanese and partsdivision were prepared to anotate it with some key information on connecting up etc. The Lexus guys should be familiar with the removal and install process of the interior panels as the pictures look silimar to other english manuals I've seem. Anyway, the items are original Toyota parts, good build and paint quality and include the wiring harness and connectors, screws etc. I'm going to see James at Lexus Woodford tomorrow to see when they can fit, and will update after that.
  3. Will hopefully be delivered from Japan tomorrow so I let you know! fingers crossed.
  4. James at Lexus Woodford has very kindly said that he will arrange for them to be installed - I've had further discussion with the supplier and they do not plug into any of the systems in the car, but include a fused wiring harness that just requires three clamp connectors to be attached to three wires from the flasher unit below the steering. Should be about a couple of hours work max. Once this arrives I'll post some pics before and after. If anyone is interested I can post details of the supplier and costs etc as well.
  5. I spoke to Lexus GB Warranty & Claims this week, they have told me that fitting these acessories will not invalidate the warranty. As they are original toyota parts for JDM (Japan Domestic Market) the units themselves are not covered by the Lexus UK warranty if they were to fail. They also stated that if something in the car was to fail and the failure could be shown to be due to the additional accessory then that too would not be covered - however as the LED mirrors come with in-line fuses they said that this should isolate the units from the other electrics. The dealership should still undertake a proper check under the terms of the warranty. I'll be popping in to Lexus Woodford tomorrow to see if they will now consider fitting them.
  6. I'm looking at importing a replacement front grille direct from Toyota for my UK RX300. As the Japan parts are spec'ed for the Harrier, can someone tell me if the Harrier "Hawk" emblem is the same size as the Lexus "L" emblem, as I need to make sure my "L" will fit the new grille ? Thanks onz
  7. OK. I spoke to James at Lexus Woodford today and he indicated that they would not be able to fit these as it alters the vehicle from the UK specification. He also thought that it "could" affect the warranty associated with elements of the door electrics etc - something about a multiplex module (?), although he was going to confirm this latter point. The source that I have approached to obtain them from has indicated that they are original OEM Toyota parts and are compatible with the UK model (MCU35) and sent me screen shots of the original toyota manuals - diagrams show how the loom is routed in the interior of the car - the text is in japanese. I will speak to James later in the week when I pick up some items I've ordered from them - see if they may budge and clarify the warranty comments. I must admit, I'm in two minds about this, but I do like the look of these fitted to the car.
  8. I've contacted Lexus Woodford for a price to install these - still waiting ... The reason I did this was that I got intouch with someone on a US forum who actually fitted them himself and said it was not the easiest of jobs. Will update you once I have this info.
  9. You may be interested to know that they also sell through their e-bay store, and do appear to offer international shipping for items purchased that way: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP..._PcY_BID_Stores if you follow the store links you'll see that it's sellwell.
  10. Does anyone know what these RX300 part numbers relate to ? 84250-48110-C0 84250-48110-E0 84244-48080-C0 Someone (overseas) asked I could find out - I believe they have something to do with the hands free controls on the steering wheel. Greatly appreciated if anyone is clued up to this level, or has access to the info, before I try ringing round the dealerships... cheers, Onz
  11. Yes, it's a genuine toyota JP option: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/t...op%2findex.html (you may need japanese fonts installed to see the link, I've included the translated link) - fun to navigate :) They seem to have quite a few accessories/options not seen over here. I spoke to the supplier, and as you said, it needs to be wired to the side repeater. I wonder if my dealership would entertain fitting them for me given that they are original options..
  12. Folks, I'm looking at possibly getting hold of these, http://www.clublexus.com/gallery/showphoto...00/ppuser/32507 but before I do, some questions that hopefully you can help with: Is there any prewiring present in the standard UK sideview mirror to wire up to this? If not how could I get them wired up - would a dealership do it? Would fitting this mess up my warranty? I believe they are orderable options on the Japanese market models, and from the pictures, appear to work on the RX330.
  13. GAP is a real must for me, though been putting it off since buying the car back in April. Found a company who will provide it upto 90 days after purchase and who do a flexible set of policies. www.gap-uk.co.uk. I'm considering if it's worth taking the extra hit on the policy that provides cover for the price of an "equivalent spec vehicle" - rather than the return to invoice policy, this way apparently you can ensure that the GAP payout makes up any shortfall in the original invoice price and any discounts that you are not able to obtain on the new vehicle - within the limit of the payout (up to £20K)
  14. yes, I too have the liner - protects the floor area of the boot, but not the sides and pillars etc - anyway looking forward to having all replaced :-)
  15. You're absolutely right about how easy it is to cause marks in that finish. Anyway, Lexus have agreed to replace both sides of the interior trim for me to restore the condition of the car - which is what I hoped for. They'll collect and return it next week when the parts are in.
  16. They told me they've posted a brochure showing what it looks like fitted - hope to get this tomorrow. Not seen any RX's on the road with this fitted yet.
  17. Folks, I've just had my RX300SE back from my local dealership's bodyshop after an incident a couple of weeks ago that slightly damaged the rear driver side wheel arch (rear quarter panel) as well as some suspension components. Anyway the car was three weeks old so I was gutted, and after reading a post elsewhere on this forum about how difficult platinum ice is to match, I was really worried about how it would turn out. To cut a long story short, I was reassured by the bodyshop that it would look brand new and you would not spot the difference. Parts were ordered last Fri, arrived on Monday this week, and yesterday I was told job done, and the car was delivered back to me today. Even though the wheel arch damage was slight crumpling, they replaced the whole rear qtr panel as well as the bumper and all the wheel/suspension etc components - The car was fully geo tested and spot on the mark - it drives fine (though I'll need to give it a good weeks worth of driving to be sure nothing crops up). Basically, I must say it is a superb job. looks like it came of the transporter, supergarded as well. My problem is that whilst the outside looks great, when I opened the tailgate, I have noticed that grey finishing (you know, that soft velvet like finish on the upper half of the interior) has scratch marks in it in various locations - looks like someone may have caught one end of the retractable cover and dragged this through the finish when they removed it to start the repair work- creating a "deep" dark crushed fabric mark. Similarly in a couple of other locations near the rear seats. The cars interior was spotless when I handed it over to them, and generally I must say the standard of the valeting on the inside did not live up to my expectation. I made a point of saying to them when I first contacted them, that I was returning it to Lexus to have the work done as I expected them to carry out the work properly and look after the vehicle to their normal high standards - as opposed to returning it the body shop that my insurance approved - who were not offical Lexus approved. The bodyshop manager is coming to my place tomorrow morning to inspect the vehicle. Any thoughts on how I should follow this situation up ? Thanks
  18. Not standard fit as far as I'm aware, it's described in the list of accessories as: Under Engine Cover Silver...................................................................PZ415-K0951-00 Cheers
  19. Hi Does anyone have a pic of what this looks like fitted to the vehicle, and does it reduce the clearance between the underside and the road surface much ? Thanks o
