I purchased my 220d se in November 2013 from non dealer garage 2008 model.

Recently had a Lexus interim service. I have been having white smoke but it is intermittent. I have also had problems with loss of power in 2nd gear, I can put my foot to the floor and nothing happens and then the power is there in a quick burst. Read on forums and looked on YouTube for solutions and found that cleaning the egr valve can help. When I took the engine cover off there seemed to be a lot happening under cover. Loads of carbon on leads and injectors and the underside of engine cover looks like it's been on fire. Booked in to lexus Thursday after speaking to customer relations regarding extended warranty on certain engine faults as head gasket and 5th injector common faults.

Has any one come across similar or is this an indication of anything major. Don't even know how much investigation work is going to cost, I don't suppose lexus will cover it.

No warnings are showing in dash other than contact lexus dealer for maintenence

Sorry for length of this topic as you can see in relatively new to this.

Any help would be appreciated
