  1. did not realise therere so many phone dealers on the forum
  2. Thanks all for your help on this. Based on all your feedback I have taken the plunge and booked it in for the end of the month. Jaffa..... Could you please tell me what capacity tank was actually fitted? A make and model ref would be appreciated. Also could you tell me where the filler cap is please (side panel or side of the bumper). Thanks. SJT ← rear bumper, will take some pics over the weekend and get the specs for you
  3. had mine converted at the start of the summer, only down side I have noticed is that the largest tank that can be fitted in the spare wheel well without too much disruption only gives you about 225-250 miles b4 a refill is needed. so if you drive any distance make sure you now where to fill up. £2k for a conversion sounds about right. No difference to power or performance and MPG has only dropped from 20.2 to 18.5.
  4. as my Mk1 runs on lpg the whole threat of a petrol strike passed me by. gas is working out @ 18.5 mpg so only a small drop in milage, but no drop in performance
  5. having tasked all the I.T. "geeks" that we employ to go forth and find, not a lot of joy or happiness was returned. The only thing close was the "vaistech" option, but even then the guys would offer no guarantee that it would work in the Uk and were not interested in a work or return option, even thouh we as a company offered to act as distributors if successful. Temporary solution has been to run it through my dvd system, although I have seen a custom job done by putting a DIN sized stereo in where the heated seat buttons are (bit iffy) Jeff
  6. the garage is just off jnct 12 M6 http://www.mnsautoslpg.co.uk/ I would recco that you get it done locally, but chris is a fountain of knowledge, he may not tell you what you want to hear, but at least its the truth
  7. I got my 2001 Rx in June with the sole intention of converting it to LPG. It runs like a dream, with no loss of performance and when it comes to filling up, I just use the small change out of the ashtray to pay. The only thing to watch out for is the difference in tank size that can be fitted, a UK car will take a smaller gas tank than an import and take longer to convert. My dealer has been great in resetting the engine management system, whilst everthing has been getting tweaked to offer the best performance. doing 22.1 MPg @ a cost of £1.35 thats gives a rough cost comparrission of 66 mpg.I just love driving a 3.0 litre V6 and worry about the cost :D
  8. Stu, 4 my sins I am a mobile distributor, feel free to PM me. As a new lexus owner the mates rates rule may apply, if we cannot help directly, as an ex director of a stoke on trent based company i am sure i can point you to sum1 who will make things happen.....if u know what i mean:)
  9. If it's the same as the IS .......... it's the light sensors ... for your headlights, and sat nav screen. ← could be, but would that sensor be up by the rear view mirror....could be the ex wife bugging the car
  10. looks like just 1 plastic plug, don't want to force it too much and break it, going into the garage in 2 weeks for a lpg conversion, think I will wait till it comes back b4 I fiddle to much........but then again!!!!
  11. runs between the 2 front seats, all the bolts and screws are out, just seems to be connected at the back end(so 2 speak)
  12. Having just purchased a 2001 RX300, which needs a really good clean, how the hell do I get the centre console out. Using a bloody big hammer and a crow bar is starting to look like an option. Also does anyone know what the sensor type thingy is that is poking out from the console?? :winky:
