I agree with Tony and Fidgits - I have one of the first generation PS2s and I've never had any problems with it - including playing GT4.

It was like a comedy sketch - but in real life. It is sad that these people are effectively ostracised from main stream society and can only have "normal" living in a remote village. Fair play to the guy who moved out and lived in his own flat though.

I'll have to keep an eye out for you. I usually get to work before 8am and leave around 4ish. I have seen an Altezza in Swindon, but I don't think it was yours and it was being driven by a bird.

I'd suggest you try it in another PS2 - and if it still doesn't work, take it back.

Oli - You've hit the nail on the head - I have had an auto before, but that was a Honda Civic, so we won't even go there, and I love the 6-speed manual I currently have in my Alfa. It's just that most of the Altezzas you see for sale are autos - but you're right, I;m being impatient and I need to wait for the right car to come along. I live in Old Town, Swindon, at the bottom of Kingshill Road. I drive throught Wroughton every day, as I work at Halcrow in Burderop Park. I can't say I've ever seen your car in Wroughton though!

Do you wish you'd bought the manual? I've seen a very nice Altezza, but with an auto box - I'm not sure if I'm ready for a lazy gearbox! Any advice?

£500 is pretty reasonable. Is there anywhere else you'd recommend I look other than Autotrader.co.uk and eBay?

They are for people like me, who only realise their MOT has expired 4 months after it actually has.

Not fussed about Sat Nav to be honest, although the leather/suede conbination you get in the IS200 is swish. I assume that is a Euro thing, as most Jap cars I see have cloth interior?

Fair play, I didn't know if I was under shooting the mark or not. Prices on Autotrader seem to range from £12k for a W reg AS200 (seems well over-priced), through to £6.5 for an S reg, with a few in-between.

Hi Guys. I'm looking for a Toyota Altezza, RS200 variant. Ideally it would be year 2000 or newer, with around 40000 miles on the clock. I'm open to suggestion on colour (just not white) and I'd prefer one that is standard with no bodykit. Now, for the prickly issue of price! There seems to be quite a variation in price on Autotrader, eBay etc and they are few and far between, so I've set my budget at £7000. Oh yeah, if anyone would like to swap for an 2000/X Alfa 156 2.5 V6, 42000k in silver with leather trim, that would be grand!
