  1. How do everybody Just wondering if these things are common on a is200: 1) burning smell from exhaust if been on long journey 2)Hell of a lot of water vapour out of exhaust, more than other cars it seems 3)black substance build up on the bottom rim of the tailpipe cover And if theses aren't normal whats up with my baby cheers
  2. please please let me know if this stops it, its only my third gear it happens on but its so annoying! :tsktsk: Also if anyone has an answer to this it would be brilliant, when i turn my stearing wheel to nearly full lock at low speeds ( usually when parking) there is a little squeak comin from the just behind the steering wheel, anyone know whats up and what sorts it out???? Cheers,
  3. I know the differnce in specs between them, but can you feel a large improvement in performance between the IS200 and 300? and is the 300 much better? Also how much do you think i would have to pay for an IS300 with styling kit and sat nav about 2-4years old with average miles, when part exchanging my x reg (2000) is200 se with 30K on clock and mint condition????? Might be dreaming here but feel like getting a bank loan and getting an IS300
  4. Which body kit front and rear and skirts is on the classic lexus??? (want mine to look like that), looks well nice much better than the new model
  5. Hi After deciding to keep my IS200, ive decided im going to upgarde my lexus slowly and surely by starting with none performance parts (keep insurance down until can afford it). Anyway my questions is, are the Prolex Parking senors any good and do I need someone to fit them (right nightmare parking on streets of leeds each day )? And also is the automatic sunroof and mirror closer again good and easy to fit? Hopefully in a few months I'll be asking which exhaust to get and so on........ Cheers everybody
  6. There a nightmare to find, i looked all over internet for one and couldn't find one and checked ebay regulary for a few weeks and one didn't come up. Only ones that came up where some cheap looking flame effect ones. Anyway the moral of the story, I got fed up looking/waiting so brought one from lexus for just over £50 including vat
  7. What sort of cost is it for getting it super charged and what acceleration difference is there???? Still cant decide, can see me loosing sleep over this one
  8. Hello Everyone I know Im going to get some backlash from asking this but.... Should I exchange my IS200 for a Type R? As much as I love my IS200 it just doesnt have the kick I want, I would love to give it a turbo or get the is300 but I just dont have that type of money. And the type R would more or less be a straight swop for a much quicker car (in price), but will I miss the comfort, luxury and rear wheel drive 2 much and then theres the down side of boy racers wanting to race me all the time in the type r. So over all does everyone think its a good idea or bad one to swop. Im really am at a knife edge on this one. all commenets welcome im willing to take some stick
  9. I'll give them a try, and yeah hes sent me a chq for price of part if I bought it from lexus. but if I can get it cheaper, I'll have a few bob in back pocket for the hassle its caused
  10. Cheers I'll keep my eye out for one and fix it myself.
  11. Had bit of accident last week, A lorry went into me. Luckily was only at couple miles per hour and only damage is a smashed rear left light and even more luckily was that there where no dints paint work apart from a couple of scratches that came straight out straight away with a touch of Mcquires Xscratch phew!!!!! Anyway my question is, is it easy to fit a new light myself? and is there anywhere I can get the light cheaper? Went to lexus Leeds and they said the part i need £75? Would it be worth while ringing around some scrappy's for one (I can imagine you dont find many clapped out IS200's around Cheers, Phil
  12. cheers, dont think im going to be selling it just yet
  13. yes I had a look on there but seemed to be slightly cheaper in trader but I couldnt tell condition and all had higher mileage
  14. How much should you pay for an IS200 SE, X reg 2000, Full Lexus Service History 30,000 miles on clock, in blue Saphire and runs like new. Only faults are a couple of stone on chips and corroded alloys everything else A1 condition? Estimates please. Cheers

  18. Hi everyone After looking round the lexus dealer I noticed most of the newer IS's they have a a nice suttle body kit and skirts. I currently have an IS200SE (Xreg 2000) and was wondering if this is an extra that I could purchase for my car and how much it is likely to cost and if the insurance man will get me for getting it???? also does any one know if the alessio F1 19" alloys are a straight fit with out any mods Cheers B)
  19. Forgot to mention its for an IS200 SE (2000)
  20. Hi http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW Has anyone purchased one of these off ebay, if so do you know if there any good and more importantly do they fit and looks the bees-knees ? I know someone who can paint it so thats not a problem. It just seems cheap to want Lexus changes for there lip spoiler. Hope the link works. Cheers, Phil
  21. Thanks for all your replies Ive gave the car a bit of stick today and its brilliant especially after the 4000 revs. Anyway back to the orginal post ive noticed it only revs over when the engines cold and standing but while im driving and the engine is warm it seems fine. I think its down to im not used to the sensity of the throttle. I must admit it seems a great upgrade I definity think I made the right choice, but ask me again in a years time when theres a hole in my pocket from the petrol costs but if it carries on to impress me, a few quid here and there will be worth it!!!!!! Thanks again Phil
  22. Cheers, I din't know if it was normal or not, mind you i am comparing it to my old 1.2 fiat punto
