  1. Hi all, I have a IS220d Sport 56 plate and need to change the disks and pads all round, the problem is all of the places i go to list the incorrect rear disks, mine are vented and about >300mm where as the ones they all recomend are the solid 291mm disks I am having real trouble finding a supplier of the correct rear disks and would appreciate some help guys, if one of you could point me to a seller that will do a full set of pads and disks to fit that would be great. Help mucho appreciated
  2. DEWSBURY AUTO SALVAGE LTD (01924 466666) gave me a quote and sorted me out, £100 for the speaker (£250 for the amp if i need it) and they had 4 more sets available Spoke to Tony, he actually knew what he was talking about.
  3. Hi All, Just got off the phone with Lexus, £399.80 for the speaker (86160 0W D80) and £1400 for the amp ... that is crazy someone do me a deal! Also does anyone know the ohmage on the existing speaker? I could always try and track down an OEM to wire in (my old IS was 2ohm on all speakers)
  4. Hi all, Well my subwoofer is destroyed Loud popping/farting is all I get from the back of the car now, which intermittently cuts off for 10-15 mins before farting for 5 Does anybody know how much this is going to set me back? What the parts numbers are, are there alternatives? anyone selling a used one? Will I need to replace the amp too? I think I know how to get to the back shelf (same as old IS, seat bottom, seat back, lift cover, 4 bolts) how do i get to the amp (i think bottom right in the boot??) Help us LOC you are our only hope
  5. Just for info. Coil went, bought a official part replacement from europarts for £105 inc VAT. Pulled EFI and ECTS fuses for 30 seconds All good now. Got all info from your older posts, thanks guys.
  6. Thanks guys, i hate taking the door pannels off, so its good news that they peal off. I am finding out how much my mates garrage will charge just to respray. any idea where would be the best hope of getting em from a breakers yard? They got none round here :(
  7. Hi guys, Just got back to my car in town and found that someone had scraped down the drivers side. Luckily the main scratches are on both doors rubbing strips, pretty deaply. But there is no dents and only one or two scratches on the actual doors (although one is quite big, but not deep). Lexus just quoted me £70 per strip pre painted, which seems quite a bit since the ones there just need a respray (depending on cost) Was wondering if anyone had any platnum silver ones (end of 1999 model) that were going cheap and if you guys knew how they are fixed (glued or bolted), also any advice on what you suggest I do about it?, have lexus fix it, my mates garrage or do it myself. Buy new ones or repaint the old. Any advice would be massivly welcome. So stressed right now Thanks guys
  8. This happened to me the day i bought the car. while i was overtaking on a B-road had to change up through 2 gears while overtaking without being able to release the accelerator too Terrifying pulled in dumped the clutch, stamped the accelerator twice, it free'd up and i carried on driving. If i hadnt been midway through an overtaking manouvre i would have just dumped the clutch and pulled over. The peg is completely missing on mine so i made one out of a bolt and some big washers. Not happened since
  9. They rip off easy, just pull the top away from the pillar. There are 3 clips which should pull out. I need 3 of these metal clips btw, i have pulled the nearside cover off so many times sorting out my incar phone kit that they fell inside the pillar :(.
  10. Check my post, I gots an infinity 12", if you were thinking of replacing your 6x9's with these it wont work, you will need an infinite baffle speaker if you arnt using a box and make huge new holes for them to fit. But in a box it sounds ace, nice and clear :) ← a baffle what now i have some infinity 6x9s was going to put an infinity sub in to replace the standard one does that mean i need a new amp to power it ? ← Do didnt realise you had a GS, if there is a 12" as standard in there you just need to check to see if it is boxed or infinite baffle (is it in a fully enclosed/slightly ported box) or is if for example on the back shelf. If it boxed the box will have an area of2"-3" squared, that should help you decide if it is boxed or IB :)

  12. Yep early 2000 sport in plat ice. I need some touch up paint for the steering wheel :) The head unit swap was a bit of a bugger. New speakers all round, and mdf mounts for them to make em fit, run new wires for the speakers to the front, these wires attatch to the standard iso loom plug i put in, split off the 12v constant ignition and earth and attatched those to the iso plug too. that way if i need to i can replace everything in the car without re-soldering any cut wires. Took about 8 hours for the head unit and speaker swap total.
  13. I originally posted this in audio video, but the title a bit stupid. Dont think anyone read it :( First this is where i mounted the fuse for the constant on this is where the wiring went through the fire wall This is the lovely shiney amp (and my mate taking the photo :) ) this will be all you can see of the modifications from the boot when i've finished beautifying it Another angle of the boot showing how much the sub takes up, you can also see a bit of the bottom of the new 6x9's and one of the 6x9's crossovers This is a close up of the sub through the arm rest, i am thinking of some form of speaker cover to tidy all of that area up, not sure what yet tho, maybe a chromed metal piece with Lexus lasered into it. Need advice here Wider angle of the seat And another One more This is the head unit and my control for the sony ericsson bluetooth head unit. This is probably a temparary setup from my old car, I am looking into a kenwood ddx-725 at the moment but they are pretty costly. And this angle Could some of you photoshop wizzards mock up a speaker guard covering the bottom of the armrest hole up, i will be looking into it too, but im thinking chrome metal of some form. Watcha think so far?
  14. I drive down some fast lanes often (where i fold the mirrors in) the wind blowing past the closed mirrors must blast em out as i never get spiders.
  15. Commiserations, I mean Congratulations. It's always so difficult to tell which way to go on news like that :P
