  1. Yes I have read that IS300 Is heavier!

But I thought the shocks should be the same as its same chasis and shape!

But I was quite lucky to get OEM shocks (front) from eBay front for £45 all in incl delivery, and KYB Gas £108 all in (rears)!

I still feel those front shocks from eBay OEM were just too cheap ill have to wait and see when they arrive!

But thats the prob when U see something too cheap you queastion it and the quality, but when they are expensive you moan!

However they are much cheaper than what Lexus Reading quoted me £326 for front shocks! £326 for rears!!!

Can you believe the rip off!!!!

  2. The Coolant and breke fluid needs to be changed every 2 years after the first 3 years from new!

Go to Nationwide AUTO centres book online and get a discount plus if you got a Tesco or AA card u get more discount and have a Major service done!

Cars are depreciating so fast now that when you sell it wont be worth all the expensive services you have had done from Lexus in my opinion!

At 60 the plugs need to be changed also and dont go to main dealer they will charge you £20 a plug x 6 plugs = £120 (iridium Tipped)

I bought my iridium tipped spark plugs from eBay for £29.99 + £2.99 delivery!

Lexus quoted me £441 for my 100K service (my cambelt had already been done previously) Nationwide charged me £196 and changed the coolant and brake fluid, I supplied my own plugs and they did a major service which is a 24K service!

    up to you!

  3. A few gold members have stated in PM that they are the same!

However those prices above were for 1 shock and not 2!

But I managed to get some decent KYB ones for the IS200!

    All sorted!

    Thanks for the many replies!!

    :shifty:

  4. I got Dunlop Sp9000 Lexus version tyres with rim protector and better wearing!

Bracknell tyres off Longshot Lane in Brackenell Berkshire did mine for £75 all in so that was £300 in total!

If you wanna save £80 go for them!

It prob cost you £40 petrol to get there and back saving you £40 quid

Call them before you go down on 01344411323

  5. Hi mate

I would go for Eibach springs as I have heard and read on here many times they are much better, PI springs are softer and not as good quality as Eibach!

Also have a good look at yr shocks and maybe get them changed too!

As I lowered mine by 30mm and now the shocks are leaking!

Also see the DR I will once I get a new set of shocks fitted!

  6. I need a new set of shocks for my IS200 SE!

I have seen some from America and they are £76 Dollars for the front KYB, and $86 Dollars for the rear KYB!

As you must be aware its $2 to the £1 at the moment so they will be £38 and £43 which I think is an amazing deal considering they are KYB (OEM) shocks!

Now the problem is they dont stock any for the IS 200 (1999)!

But they do stock them for the IS 300 (2000)!

Now surely the shocks for the IS200 and IS 300 are exatly the same and there should be no difference between the IS200 1999 shocks and IS 300 2000 shocks is there???

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

  7. Hi

I just had Dunlop Sp9000 fitted to my lexus 215/45/17 the Lexus version and yes they do have a lip to protect the rims!

I got them for £75 a tyre fitted from Brackbell Tyres on Longshot Lnae absolute bargain!

I used to have Falken Ze512 and they lasted 14K and I drive carefully I was disgusted with the wear on them and they are absolutely CRAP too!

Didn't the fronts wear the inners and the rears the middle due to Geometry issues and motorway driving?

Yeh both front were worn on the inners and were bold! And the rears were worn in the centre about 2 inches in the middle of the tyre and were bold! Yes I do a lot of motorway driving approx 80 miles everyday mon - fri with the occasional 200 miles to leicester and back on the weekends!

I had uniroyal rainsports 1's when I got the car and they did 28k they did have front inner wear but were fine at the back! I will be getting it checked out by the DR once I get some shocks sorted!
