Hi all
I took my recently purchased two year old RX back to Lexus Stockport on Friday last week regarding the aggressive acceleration at low speeds, the gear box drops a cog or two and lurches forward at a vast rate of knots, even under moderate throttle.
I have driven a Subaru Legacy Outback for three years on an auto box and never had this effect unless I wanted it on the kick down.
I see that the problem is the point of gear change, down shift is to high up the rev band. The car while still in motion upto about 12 mph should not shift into 1st gear at all unless the throttle is hit hard for the reason of puring on power, gentle acceleration does not seem to be possible.
Lexus Stockport told me that this is a trait of the vehicle, nothing they can do about this.
I would gladly demonstrate this aggresive behaviour to any one at Lexus that says it does not happen it does and can and probably will at some point cause an RX driver to rear end another car.
Sorry that s my ten peneth on the matter.
Tony
