  1. I got married on 9th July (a whole month ago)

Try and relax and enjoy the day - I wasn't too bad at the church, just follow the vicars lead! We had a female vicar who was really good.

Didn't eat much during dinner due to speech nerves but once i got into it (3 pages of A4 text !!) I settled down and was fine - had the place roaring with laughter - really fills you with confidence - just remember they'll all be family and friends and are there to see you - not to make fun if you balls something up.

Once the speeches are done you can let the drinking begin.

Plenty of speech planning websites out there too - i found them handy.

Good luck with it all - especially the stag do - I had 30 blokes on 3 narrow boats in the midlands - absolute carnage !

  2. Any local meets in any of these areas?

Be good to meet some fellow Lexus owners.

:driving: I live in ickleton, near Duxford. Have never heard of any meets around this area, strange because the M11 is so close and a lot of the time when i am passing Duxford airfield they are having some sort of car club meeting which is a perfect venue. :D

My current contract is at Duxford (extending the main Hangar) - you can't miss it !!

A meet at Duxford would be ideal LOL :hehe:

  3. Managed to get out of a meeting early and picked it up on friday in the end.

Had it for 4 days now and am loving every minute of it.

I have always been a stereo nut but damn the lexus system is good. I have never heard such a quality 'stock' system. Awesome!

Keep getting a few funny looks as a 23 year old in a Lexus but what the heck - beats owning a crusty beemer ! :winky:

Not the fastest car in the world but i bought it because it was nearly sensible, and has a certain charm about it - i don't want to thrash it everywhere anyway - would rather let people have a good look at it - I have been mostly using 6th gear in 30's - doesn't seem to phase it at all. :)

Yet to get some piccy's up as i'm too busy driving it ! :hehe:

Bloody insurance company added £25 to the premium for the inch wide plastic spoiler on the back though - wasn't too happy about that - makes it more 'appealing' to thieves apparently - insurance companies would take your granny given half the chance.

Will get some pics up when I can !

  4. I've finally bitten the bullet and bought an IS200 SE - I pick her up from Lexus Cambridge on Saturday morning.

She's on an 03 plate with 20k on the clock, black interior with a Scarlatti red coat to keep her warm :D

Can't wait now - hopefully many happy years of motoring ahead. :D :yahoo:

  5. £4k repair bill, plus the hire car, recovery etc etc - it soon adds up.

I think the roof was the big problem - panels are easy enough. There is no structural damage either - A-pillars are as straight as a die.

Car is prob only worth £6500 privately anyway - on an 02 plate but had 53k on the clock.

I am expecting an offer of £5k then the argument.

  6. I'm only new here but would like to offer my sympathies to you - it sucks. I rolled my car last week (hence looking at an IS200 now)

Complete pain in the back-side. Just got to play the waiting game now. Got to get the private plate off of the car before the documents can go off to the Insurance company )that can take the DVLA up to 7 weeks ! ) then i'm going to have to haggle with the insurance company over the settlement figure :tsktsk:

Hope you get it all sorted but the main thing is you can't be replaced - a car can. Bit of a cliche' but it's true enough.

Here is my mishap for those interested - lost the back end on a corner after the dry spell then the rain, no amount of correction worked for me. This was at 30mph too ! :crying:
