Well IM new here, just got my Lexus a week ago :D I'm 32, married with two kids, boy of 8 months and girl of 3. I work in IT, and live in Stevenage, having gotten away from our ... knifing/shooting/arson infested street in London. Surprised I didn't see it being mentioned in Crimewatch but o well :) Good thing we got out of London flat as we had a rat infestation in the last few weeks of our time there.... Neighbors downstairs werent how should I say... hygenic...I've never been so relieved to leave a home as I was that one. Currently no plans to mod the car, as holidays are upcoming... will see when dust clears :)

Hi guys, I've been roaming around these forums for quite a while now, and have noticed that there is such a great community here. Everyones friendly. Anyway, I finally made the plunge and have got my Lexus, shes a black IS200 Sport 01.. I did have my heart set on granite sky, but after seeing this baby I know I made the right choice :) Still got a smile on my face from when I got it some days ago. Decided to get it from a dealer in the end; drove bout 200 miles to get it from Lexus Bolton! :o Was considering going private but after seeing the poorly kepty interior of one car which I drove bout a 100 miles to see, I thought Id rather pay more to get the car in excellent quality. My mates were gawpin when they saw it, considering that I have a long history in owning ******* cars! This is the first decent car I've got. I know how mod happy you guys are, but I don't know if Ill be modding it..kinda skint right now to be honest :)... only thing I might do in near future is put a badge on front as its debadged... but then im likin the debadged look, so will see how it goes...

Hi all I'm new to signing up on this forum, but I've been hangin round it for ages now, as I've long considered getting a Lexus IS200, and am now most likely gonna make the plunge very soon. I just have some questions though, and I'm wondering if you could give me some of your advice. I know quite a number of you dont fancy the new IS200, but I think it looks pretty special inside and out...I am thinking about getting a Lexus and then, say after 2 years or so, possibly trading up to the New IS. Now... I know I can get a used IS for about 2k approx less private than from a dealer...coupled to the fact that IS's are extremely reliable, a warranty perhaps in this case isn't...necessary. Is it better to buy from a dealer and then trade up to the new IS after 2 yrs on a pcp scheme? Or buy private for 2k less or so, and then try to part exchange it for a new IS after 2 yrs. At the end of the day its not written in stone that i would want the new IS after 2 yrs given the higher new prices being mentioned. But i do like the looks of it. I would be looking to buy an IS in the region of 8.5 to 9.5k privately, whereas from a dealer I would probably be looking at at least 11-12k. Also, what year plate should I be looking at in order to maximise residuals after 2 yrs..02 plate?(costs more I know but I can go up a bit) Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
