  1. I used to commute between 27 (M11) & 13 (Egham) and the journey times used to vary a lot. Monday mornings were the worst (going to 13) and Friday evenings were the worst coming back. Journy times varied from an hour (outside rush hour) to 2 hours + (rush hour). However, there are lots of ways around some of the main hot spots (off @21a, back on @19 for example) that can make things a little easier. If you can be flexible enough to avoid the rush hours then its not a bad journey at all.
  2. I'm a bit confused here so please forgive me if I'm wrong, but are you calling the Lexus expensive when compared to a high mileage 3 year old BMW? I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense whatsoever To be honest, there is no way you can make a comparison between Lexus and BMW and the Lexus lose on price, because it never does........ Blimey not been back in a while and i get all this abuse!!!!! ok, this is hard to compare, because IS200 and IS300 prices will have dropped considerably because of the model IS250 right? ok, you have the option, IS200 for say £15k, 1 year old, and 15k miles, or... a 325i sport, 2 yr old, higher mileage, but for the same price, which would you choose? For the BMW, you get better handling, better car, more power, quicker, reliable, and peaceof mid. As well as a car that will run for 200xxx miles. I'm sorry, each to his own, i just couldn't justify the Lexus over the BMW. I dont think any of us have a problem with you buying a BMW; your choice after all. Its just that perhaps you should be posting this on the BMW owners site and not LOC.......
  3. bummer - just heard from dealer and delivery is now 'sometime in june' I ordered mine on Jan 5th; picked it up on Jan 20th. SE with MM in Argento Silver (would have preferred slate but I wasn't that bothered). Also paid a good price for it and got wat I wanted (slightly more actually) for my trade-in. Must have caught them at the right time......
  4. Has anyone else noticed that the IS250 has bright white LEDs for the rear number plate lights? I just happened to walk around the back of mine while the lights were on. Nobody else has said anything so perhaps you have to be as sad as me to notice. Looks distinctive though.
  5. My Y connector is one lead going into 2 leads so does fit in the console. The 2 way box is similar though.
  6. Hey newbie, how much did this connector cost? I'd be interested as I have the Belkin power connector but as you say can't use it as the centre console will not close. Its pretty cheap (under £20) but I bought it some time ago for my old car so not sure of the exact price. They also do a box that turns a single power outlet into 3 outlets. However, with this one, although the console will close, the box does not fit in there tidely. Y connector works fine though.
  7. I saw some posts on this a few weeks ago but I was not sure whether this was resolved so apologies if you already know this. The problem was that none of the standard power connections would allow the centre console to close. Here is a solution. Halfords sell a 'Y' connector (turns one socket into two) that has a low profile connection to the power outlet allowing the console to close. This then gives you 2 power outlets inside the console. I have used one for my phone charger and the other for the Belkin iPOD connector (shown in another post). It all works a treat and no clutter :)
  8. I'm getting mine (Silver, 250 SE with MM) tomorrow. I too will be like a kid at Xmas. No sleep tonight for me :D However, if you dont get ecited about a purchase like this, then what's the point?
