  1. I can get hold of some lighting but it would have to be run from a generator and I can definately get hold of some ear plugs for Steve's singing:smilegrin:

If you guys need a hand setting up the day before then give me a shout

  2. There is also another product available made by NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) which is available in the UK. It claims to boost the octane rating of 97RON fuel to over 100RON. It costs £11.50 for 355ml which does about 100 litres of fuel. If it can offer those sort of power boosts I think it is worth the cost.

  3. Andy,

Side Skirts cost £285 inc vat plus another £235 for fitting and spraying. All arranged by Lexus Aberdeen through their recommended Body Shop.

With regards to insurance. Basically ignorance is bliss. I won't tell them about the side skirts but as the main kit is factory fitted I'm hoping this covers me.

But Andy if you work for Norwich Union then of course I'll declaring them.

How long till your car is delivered. Mine arrived at the dealer today, pick up next Monday.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Dont worry mate, I dont work for an insurance company!

By the way, what is your full name, address and policy number:smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin:

Only kidding! My car is delivered may 20th. I could have had it this week but I have to wait for a finance agreemant to end on my current car

  4. Thanks Andy... The plates were a little expensive... :smug:

The side skirts are indeed the ones available from your local Lexus dealer - and the badge on the grill says "Sport". Its the Sport Grill - again available from your dealer.

    Cheers, Zee

So will I get the sport badges on my new styling kit front grille?

ps, WOO HOO! 100 posts at last:smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin:

  5. I am using PIAA SUPER PLASMA and they looks similar to HID, just not as bright. the colour is very 'metallic' white+a bit of purple~

have been using them for 7months and still not blow up yet!

if u dun want that slightly bit of purple i recommand piaa EXTREME WHITE thats pure white!

I have seen some of these PIAA lamps in the demon tweeks catalogue (about £80 a pair) - What lamp fitment is the IS? Also, it says that the lamps are 60/55W but give an output of 110W. Would these lamps be too much for the IS plastic lenses? They claim these lamps are the closest thing to HID lighting

  6. am i right that it is illegal to have anything other than a thin strip across the top of the windscreen?

It is not illegal to have a tint on your windscreen or front windows, as long as it lets 70% light through. That means you can't have the mega dark limo tints. Most manufacturers put a slight tint on the front glass anyway (between 10 and 20%) So any new tint would not look that much darker. You can have the rears on back window as dark as you like because the law just classes it as a van.

  7. Is there anyone representing Lexus GB here? If not then why not, Lexus claim they listen to their customers in which case it would make good sense for them to assign one of their staff to use this forum to get feedback and answer some questions on certain things.

Lexus are trying very hard to win over the MB S class and BMW 7 series owners and are spending a great deal of their marketing money on hosting the events offered in Ethos Extra (Ethos Extra isn't really a magazine as much as it is a sales brochure for people with lots of free time and money, in my opinion).

There's no doubt that some Lexus drivers like and make use of the offers in Ethos Extra but seeing as younger people are driving Lexi would it not be a good idea to put some offers which appeal to the younger generation? After all, supposedly younger people splash their money around more on leisure and entertainment than older people. I wouldn't mind being offered tickets to the premieres of some films :D

What does everyone reckon - Ethos Extra is bad altogether or could it be made better by broadening the offerings?

For those who may be offended: I'm not defining old or young, it really does depend on how old or young you feel.

I have read the magazine in Lexus Sheffield and it could do with some stuff for the younger peeps here. Quite a few of us are under 30 so there should be something aimed at this age bracket. Free movie premiere tickets sounds good. I could also do with a ticket for this years ozzfest if anyone from Lexus reads this:smilegrin:

  8. You think that is bad - I went to watch my beloved Derby County on saturday and now I feel like killing a linesman:smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin:

I know what you mean though Shrek, there is nothing worse than finding some damage to your car caused by some inconsiderate b*stard that was probably completely oblivious that they had even done it.

Three weeks ago I watched a woman (probably about 25) knock the wing mirror clean off a Citroen Saxo in her F reg Fiesta, and she did not even know she had done it. I did the good samaritan thing and wrote down her reg no. and gave it to the owner when he came back

  9. A sheriff walks into a saloon bar in the old wild west and shouts "Any of you critters seen brown paper Jake?"

One of the punters replies "what does he look like?"

"he's got brown paper trousers, brown paper shoes, a brown paper jacket and a brown paper hat"

"What's he wanted for?" says another punter

    The sheriff replies "Rustling"
