good to know... but which is cheaper???
-
the coupler would be useful if our units had one.....
syringe is also useless as the drain/fill plug is at the bottom so you need to remove the unit to fill it.
i have a bottle sitting on the shelf and its the same thickness as saf xj
-
have you greased the back of the pads?/shims and the contact ends of the pads??
-
its just gear oil - use a high pressure gear oil and u will be fine. something like Castrol saf -xj or saf-xo
-
So I waited for it to lock itself on the timer thing and left it went off to work.
what timer?? ther eisnt one as standard - if yours auto locks then u have an aftermarket system
-
yes
yes but it stops after about 10 seconds once engine is started
no..if Battery is 100% dead but this is unlikely

MOVED TO WANTED SECTION

oh it is possible......
i am basing the assumption on some posts about an IS200- the loom is different between cars.
how about looking in the boot/ behind dash if the plugs are there? if they are then you are laughing... if not then personally i wouldnt bother
-
i doubt it as the wiring looms in general are different so it wont be a simple job of plug and play - if u wan to go thru with this then dont expect an easy conversion
-
if u look on yahoo and type in "is200 pcd" the very first few results would tell you
-
it can prob be sorted by just greasing the ends of the pad backing plate, which is a 30 min job max.......
-
read the instructions on the can ?????

before anyone starts ripping into changing the oils etc a few points should be noted....
oil filter - access is restricted so its a good idea to buy the filter cap tool as Ormi has in his pics or at worst get the tool with 3 legs that clamp around the filter - it will be difficult using a strap or chain.
Gearbox - FORGET about changing the oil unlesss you have a pressure or hand pump to put oil into the gearbox - NO access to put oil in from a bottle! something like this is required - eBay 350220007733
Rear Diff - you will need a length of hose and a funnel to extend from the rear diff to outside of the rear arch - fill the funnel and let gravity do the work - you can not fill it 100% using a normal sized/shaped 1 litre oil bottle OR use the above pump!
brake bleed - it is about 25 - 30 pumps between max and fill line on the reservoir and 1 litre is perfect for a full brake and cluth bleed

i paid €14/ £12 for a filter and drain plug seal yesterday so i wouldnt bother buying a pattern part in this case
-
how about fan on low and temp on low......... wouldnt that be far easier
-
good luck...... but it is an easy fix.

6 years or 60,000 miles whichever is sooner
-
DOH! true haha i looked at the first pic and assumed it was the outside.
-
ah ! kwik fit are known for saying things need changing etc when they dont....... did it " suddenly" start to overheat when they did the MOT? if so take it away and see if it is really overheating........
-
i assume they mean the thermostat... but what was the temp guage showing?

What does he mean the engine is covered in cladding and he cant see if its inline or V?????? means neither of them have a clue
Never done it myself, but can't you see the engine if you just take off the plastic engine cover?
dont need to do anything mate, just open the bonnet and u can see everything.
