  1. Hi Lee, I know you've had your chips done now but for any further problems try this http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/. I have 4 areas looked at on my gold GS for £60. They use special quick drying paint and will come to your home or work. It is a franchise so I guess quality can vary but the guy I used was top. Regards, Ian.
  2. Hi, Just wanted to know if you've resolved the alarm issue as I too have exactly the same problem on a '97 GS300 Sport Mk1. I too am flumexed as to the location of the alarm. Like you everything works apart from the siren, the lights flash, doors lock and I asume the immobiliser works. Someone told me that some systems can have the siren switched on/off but like you I can't find the alarm to see if there's such a switch. Hope you've found a solution and that you can share it with me. Here's hoping GS Sport.
  3. Hi, Can anyone tell me if there are auxillary inputs on the back of the Mk1 stereo. I want to connect my iPod and certainly haven't had much luck with the cassette adaptors. I wondered if there were a couple of spare audio jacks on the back, although I think it unlikely as there's no auxillary control on the fascia. Failing this can the input block be chaged to bypass one of the original inputs? I've seen one system for 2001-2006 models but this is $299 from the states. I'd like to find a cheaper solution and one that will work on the Mk1. Hope someone can help. Many thanks in anticipation, GS Sport.
  4. Hi, I have a 1997 GS300 Sport Mk1 and have got a small rust spot right between the lower outer plastic door panel and the upper part of the door. I have used Chipsaway to do small paint jobs as they're very good and very resonable but on this occassion the guy couldn't figure out how to remove those lower plastic panels. The plastic bolts which are visable from the inside of the doors just spin and don't loosen. Does anyone know if a special tool is required to remove these or is it just a case of grabbing them with mole grips and pulling them out - assuming there's a proper bolt underneth? Thanks in anticipation.
