  1. How much simpler can I make it, you plug it in, crimp two wires done You don't even need to connect the orange one. Not even the blue one, but if that isn't connect it won't auto tune to stations. i see what a scotchlock is now...sorry....but are the aerial harness and dimmer wires colour coded or are they obvious?...i wouldnt want to crimp into the wrong ones. btw would you believe i have a degree in engineering? lol thanks guys
  2. so you mean they go into the new head unit?...what about the aerial connector? No mate, the blue one (aerial) needs a scotch lock to the thin black cable on the aerial harness in the car. The orange one needs attaching to a circuit that dims, mine is attached to my edfc controller but you could attach it straight to the dimmer switch by the drivers leg. hmmmf...sounds a bit technical...i thought it would be a simple plug & play operation to bypass amp to now h/u.
  3. so...to get to the amp..and attach the bypass lead, you only need to squeeze the glove box sides to release it?....is that really all it takes?
  4. so you mean they go into the new head unit?...what about the aerial connector?
  5. hey iceman...did you figure out where exactly to attach those two extraneous leads from the loom?....i guess there wont be any detailed instructions
  6. yeah, amazing technology, ***** piece of kit.... tbh, i am gobsmacked that lexus seem to just pass this all off as nothing, and accept no responsibility. After all this is a LUXURY top of the range motor car, built to the highest standards with the finest materials...isnt it?? The CD unit has a design FAULT, it does not perform as it is supposed to, under trading standards regulations they should be held accountable, surely. and furthermore, i cannot get my head around the reaction of Lexus owners to this problem...Oh yes, err3 problem, very common £300 for repair...there you go, have a nice day...i meeeeean....come ON!!! no-one seems to know just what the fault is...and what exactly constitutes a £300 repair bill. I bet there is a reset switch somewhere and someone is taking the mick, its tantamount to extortion.
  7. i had err 3 which had all 6 discs in there, i took out the unit & managed to retrieve them, but since then it still thinks its fully loaded. Did yours reset itself after you got the cd out? Did yours reset itself after you got the cd out?

  9. i wouldnt think of buying a new one..i just wanted to put things into context, it just seemed very coincidental that his unit showed exactly as mine did. i do have the option of £275 repair of my unit i guess...or replace with aftermarket+adaptor lead. Still not sure about whether people like the new sound. and the cost would be about £200+
  10. hi all i bought new 13902 h/u from ebay, to replace ERR3 unit on mine, guy said i could collect and see it working (fair do's). Took my car over, switched units, but as soon as i plugged in, all 6 cd's shown as loaded and ERR3 came up when CD button was selected...EXACTLY the same fault as on my unit. NOW...here's the thing, the guy was adamant that he had seen the unit working and i have no reason to doubt him. SO...do you think it is possible that the fault may lie somewhere OTHER than the head unit? if i were to purchase a brand new unit, for example, and plugged into my IS200, you think it's possible that i will get the same error?
  11. I was quite liking this model...seems to have everything, i dont want bluetooth or anything like that, but it has power, HPF & LPF, MP3/WMA...even looks like u can change colour.. what do you think? http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/4499.html and...are you all quite happy with the IS200 setup just using the lead and the head unit?
  12. that would be excellent!... i am in south yorkshire ...and you still get good bottom end?...and what head unit are you using?
  13. i hope tis thread is not dead now....i am holding out on buying this wiring kit and h/u until i can get a good concensus... my h/u went err3 a while back (£275+ for repair), so this is why i am thinking of new h/u and wiring loom. BUT, if the sound is going to suffer, AND i m spending £200+ for new kit, well.....what do i do??
  14. sounds like good news codlord, which pioneer h/u you get?...i like the fact you can adjust low range etc for the speakers. ...so just a straight forward swap and no real reduction in sound quality?
  15. Thanks iceman, do you still get the solid bottom end that you get from the oem system?...and would the aftermarket h/u drive the speakers ok?..
